When backed into a corner about Cam's mediocrity, make excuses, back track and make the context as "subjective" as possible to create your own "point".at sticking to stats from two years ago (when he was at best top 15) to ignoring away last yr's failures. The one thing you are right about is that I am a Falcons fan. I'll admit this: Drew Brees was a GOAT level QB for many years and I hate the Saints. As for ya boy, Cam Newton is the definition of mediocrity as a passing QB, not even 2013 can deny that
I don't think you have a choice but to respect Brees, he's an all time great quarterback. With Cam it seems like people are still stuck in this mindset of running QB's are limited as pocket passers, when Cam has already broken that mold and proven that he can more than capably manage an offense through the air. Your definition of "good" for a pocket passer must be on some crazy high standard since Cam has the decision making, throwing mechanics, ability to fit the ball into tight windows and good enough ball placement to be considered a good passer. He was absolutely that in '13. I'm not ignoring last years struggles but giving context b/c its pretty obvious that he's better than what those numbers would suggest. I'm a Panthers fan first, Cam fan second. If he didn't play for my team I probably wouldn't bother with this but because I've watched his every snap since being drafted in '11 I know how much he's grown since then, and can tell you objectively that he's a good passer
