I'm not into what I've heard from Jay Electronica. But the rest of them I would check out. I didn't come in the post to be a contrarian azzhole, I just wish the center, the dominant discourse on these records would be positive rather than the black cards, bottles, drugs, etc. I think music has the power to change lives for the better. So I would hope that would happen one day.

How come you guys never bring Wu- Tang, Tupac, Biggie, or Nas into these discussions? All of which rapped about selling drugs and shooting people albeit less than Chief Keef and Bobby Shmurda
I don't like it coming from them either. To me it is more excusable coming from younger artists actually.

It's been verified that a guy killed two cops while listening to a Tupac album. Allegedly it was his motivation for doing it. How many people have been murdered to Love Sosa?
I didn't post the thread so I wasn't singling out Keef. I couldn't tell you how many people have been murdered to Love Sosa but what about Bang? I don't know I'm not familiar with his whole catalogue like that. But I'm not giving Pac's catalogue a pass in the discussion. I think wrong is wrong.

i don't celebrate anyone's downfall. ever.

you look at the artists and look past the execs that sign them in massive quantities in order to promote an agenda. the artists themselves are doing nothing more than speaking what they live or what they see or know goes on.

it's nikkas like you that are the problem because your direction of thought is weak. you point the finger at the kid being manipulated by an agenda bigger than he, that is aimed and targeted him, funded by millions, if not billions of dollars, which he has no idea of the machine's existence. he's simply a byproduct of millions spent to destroy him from people that he never sees. yet you blame him for his destruction.

1. He cusses before he even starts his verse!

2. Then he’s name dropping gangs in the first 30 seconds

3. then he has that wutang style that’s not really coherent I don’t even know what he’s talking about, “hit the kitchen with 6 biches to do dishes? Seems like he’s just saying words with no content.

4. He talks about how good he is at rapping

5. Has the cliché your bich likes me line

I'm not even sure what this song is about but it's swear words through and through with gang references and biches doing dishes, I'm not inpired mane. No hate but it's not moving at all and I failed to catch the positive message.

I'm not OP but I definitely don't root for downfalls either. And I definitely blame the execs but not the kids. It's structural. You can't blame Keef he's just rapping his life. So, 1 it would be good to try to have impact on lives like keefs so that these naratives no longer exist. But, if they do exist I'd rather they not be glamorized. I think that's harmful. But, I blame the man who made the poison kool aid more than I blame the destitute individual who he gave some money to pass it out. But that doesn't mean I don't want the destitute individual to keep passing out poison kool aid.

From The Westside With Love
There are many systematic elements preying on blacks

I feel like the church teaches positive values. You might not believe in JC but that's throwing the baby out with the bath water, because there are some good values being taught, so I would disagree that the church has done more harm than any gangster rapper. Look at Agent Ross out here poisoning the community. At this point the damage he's doing is arguably catching up to the real Rick Ross.

Stopping the music wouldn't stop a lot of the social ills. But, to say well, "Keef got his family out the hood," yeah that's great, but his music and music like it in my mind is pushing young people toward crime. And, that's probably intentional and part of a bigger plan.

I would think the damage done by that poison music outweighs rachet artists buying their rachet families houses.

Let's look at Eddie Long.
- Is worth over 200x the local community he preaches to
- shrugged off multiple child molestation claims, with no fukks given
- continues to exploit this congregation... so he can live like this

00-Photo-of-Bishop-Eddie-Longs-Estate-300x244.jpg

- and blacks will continually give money to him, instead of using their money to put black business, youth outreach programs,co-op gardens, neighborhood improvement programs in their own neighborhoods....with no logical reason as to why.

What actual crimes has the rapper Rick Ross committed that compare to a man who actually ran a drug empire worth hundreds of millions?

Why would they "need" rappers to push black kids towards crime...when they're already living in low-income neighborhoods deprived of educational opportunities, high unemployment rates,school-to-prison pipelines, poor heathcare....and compound that with institutional racism and 40-60 years of neglect........would it really take a gangsta rap album to turn somebody to crime?

First of all the bar for these new rappers is so low, that the jews is just checking who is poppin' on a local level, who the lil' preteen kids is gonna flock to as views and then they just milk them and let them become clowns...
You have all the necessary tools on the internet to become a great independent artist! None of these lil wild ass kids has any poetic skills! BOOKS READ - NONE! None of them want to be different or stand up for something - where's the talent in that! Same with their fans...People flock to what's hip, swag or just viral at the next 24 hours, then they just find something new, when these rappers get locked up or when they start exposing themselves! J cole was smart, Kendrick was smart - they studied the game, the art, the floetry of hip hop, gave respect to the old school and they will truly become great ARTIST! SO :scust: at these talentless ignorant :trash:wrappers!

We can never take their chance at redemption away, though!
But if they are a$$holes to their own loyal fans, trust me, you look mega stupid for stanning them! :camby:

he may be passing out the kool aid, but who manufactured the supply and put it in the grocery store for him to buy? all he did was mix sugar and water.

Now see I don't agree with Eddie Long. His lifestyle is not in accordance with the texts i.e. Matthew 6:24, Luke 12:33. The actual message is to love thy brother as thy love thyself. That is supposed to be the most important Commandment. And, there are many scriptures speaking against the amassment of wealth instead of a life dedicated toward positivity (it's harder for a rich man to get into heaven than a camel through the eye of a needle) (don't even ask me how)

The Real Rick Ross damaged the community. But the fake Rick Ross also damages the community by misguiding youth with music that encourages a criminal lifestyle.

I don't think people in bad positions need gangsta rap to push them into a criminal lifestyle but, some of this music is certainly functioning as the soundtrack to that lifestyle. Also I'm not just talking about hood kids. Look at college basketball scholarship dude that just went in with El Dorado Red. Kids with opportunities are throwing them away cause some CO is telling them to sell dope on their iPhone.
