Yeah I was born and bred in ATL 80s-00s and I think it peaked 1995-2005. Too crowded and the dynamism is waning under all the strains to an extent though it is a good and relatively cheaper place to start a business than up North. I would think places like Charlotte are more like ATL in its glory days but I haven't been to Charlotte so won't comment on that.

It has stagnated. City and State leadership haven’t had enough bold visions to continue to diversify the economy, modernize infrastructure, and many other things.

Georgia should have something like NC Research Triangle or the Texas Triangle by now with all the momentum it has in the 90s and early 00s.

Y’all all will be moving back in 10-20 years when climate change got it 110 in the shade in January down there. Detroit will be closed off for all y’all that hated on the original black Mecca :camby:

Their families left Texas in droves. So they are just returning home.

Pretty much.

They need to keep coming. Texas has more blacks (in absolute numbers) than any state but we're not even 12% of the population here.....America as a whole has a higher black % than Texas.

Bring some more brehs and brehettes and we can flip this blue. It would change the political calculus because the GOP can't win shyt without TX. It puts the Cruz and Cornyn's senate seats in play and makes the gubernatorial and lieutenant gubernatorial races more competitive.

Yeah especially with GA Tech, the tech scene should be popping a lot better than it is. The film industry was a good move but given ATL is a service and not manufacturing city, there is only so much more stuff they can do.

Yeah TX is interesting. Got the most land under acreage by Black farmers and ranchers too.

This is starting to happen with the highway system and roads here in Texas, but many of these cities need to expand their infrastructures just off the population increase alone. There are whole sets of people moving together in 6 bodies to a house type situations, often from southern states with a different type of speed.
