interesting, im in the battery business so im not at the top of her to-get list. but for fuses and other random parts it sounds great, very clever

she aint lying about the old book, everyone has it and its the size of dead sea scrolls. its time has passed
Fam, their exec-board is legit as fukk

She has sales experience
The co-founder has marketing experience
They have 2-3 PhDs on the squad

AND I have connections to like half that squad. I hit my friends earlier yesterday and found out we all have the same circle of friends and organization networks.

They're young AND black AND getting to it.

All they need is that money and someone to truly believe in them.

Ya, i'm quite confident Google has considered all use cases.

I understand, but how competitive is their industry. Are they fully comparable and competitive with other companies in their industry? Do they have a competitive advantage over the next company? I want them to succeed as much as you do, I'm just reluctant to over-hype. I'm going to keep following their moves, though. :obama:
They're in a very hard field but I think this ultimately comes down to their engineering team and what resources they have access to.

it seems like its going to be a challenge, the auto parts industry doesn't like new people. new brands, just difficult field to break into. but they seem to have some really dedicated staff with some potential, so like just about any startup ill be pulling for them

My eyes got a little watery. This is an amazing story. You have an educated, non-ratchet black woman who took the initiative and started her own successful business. Not a hair salon or some bullshyt cosmetic company but a tech business. God damn....

I only watched a few minutes of the first video but was already impressed. I don't know much about business but from what I can tell the most valuable thing about her business is the propriatary server and the visualization algorithm. She should start a separate company that licenses the technology to scientists, researchers, military, and possibly law enforcement (facial recognition perhaps? I dunno). Use the licensing fees from that to further fund PartPic. Just a random thought.

Edit: It seems like this is exactly what they're doing. Wasn't aware they've already adopted the enterprise model. Thought it was an app anyone could download and use.

Their competitive advantage will come down to them being able to establish themselves first in this market. They got a head start on everybody but I don't see anything here that would prevent home depot, walmart etc from adding a similar functionality to the apps they already have and crush their buildings. They should focus on branding and marketing heavy. "partpic" should be to part search as "google" is to internet search. of course that would take money.. but that's what they need to do. If they can establish equity in their brand then the sky is the limit.
