Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
It'll help them a lot when LeBron leaves in a year. Cause there isn't any Kyrie trade that will give them a shot in a fair one against GS.

When you're in luxury tax hell like the Cavs are, I would think they would care about paying twice as much, especially when said player doesn't put them over the top

If Thomas can't play they may not even make it to GS, they'd be better off keeping Kyrie and weakening the C's in the process over trading for a pick that hurts them this season. There's a $700,000 difference between what Middleton/Brogdon make and Zizic, Thomas and Crowder, negligible at best.

What this all sounds like is that the Cavs feel like Thomas needs surgery or else he's going to be a shell of his self, and if he needs surgery he's done for the year. Stevens is on record saying he may not be ready for training camp, Ainge said there would be a delay with him.

Optimistic But I Got Hands Tho
This is what I don't get. Isaiah was injured all the way back in May. You're saying Celtics halted surgery for Isaiah to get Kyrie when Kyrie was still in the playoffs in June and said he wanted out in July

Doesn't make sense

Isaiah was injured in the Wizards series and continued to play on it.

They rode him to the ECF and then shut him down once they knew they had no chance of winning the series against the Cavs. Instead of getting surgery... they opted to rest it (which kept his ability to be traded this summer alive). If that diagnosis was wrong (which it sounds like it is) his 2016-2017 season is likely over.

This in turn may jeopardize his career and his ability to get paid next summer.

Boston got a chance to reap the benefits of a deep playoff run on his back and then flipped him for a younger, taller, and better verision of him.

As long as they have LeBron they're going to the Finals. Will they be better off? If it's true that Kyrie was considering holding out,?how do we know he doesn't just pull a Vince Carter? Also according to Woj, the Cavs value the Nets pick more than Isaiah. They also reportedly valued Josh Jackson more than Bledsoe. It's plausible that they see getting a long-term piece as the real prize and not a vet replacement for Kyrie. They got washed by GS last year, and it's probable that they'll be even better this year.

I don't think either team benefits from a void when you look at what they're really after.

They may value the pick more, but they still want a replacement for Kyrie, which is why they asked for Bledsoe in addition to Jackson and why Brogdon's name is there with Middleton. They want to secure the future while still being competitive now, and I disagree, I don't think they make it back to the finals if it's LeBron with Derrick Rose & Calderon as his PGs.

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
@KevJ going through it right now

I went from hating the trade, thinking we overpaid to talking myself into Kyrie only to go thru this... frustrating few days especially if we have to add more into a trade that I already thought was an overpay

Yeah I get that, but how does that play into a positive for the Celtics assuming people are thinking they sabotaged him?

- If they sabotaged his surgery and keep him for this season, he's injured so it hurts the Celtics
- If they sabotaged his surgery and try to trade him, another team would do a physical, he'll obviously fail, and the trade would go through

Unless you're just saying Celtics dropped the ball and mistakenly mismanaged his surgery situation

Sure, but if their main goal is to get a long-term piece then walking away from a deal where they get a valuable lottery pick isn't just something to brush off. Would the Wolves have been better off taking Dante Exum & Derrick Favors for Kevin Love rather than Wiggins & Thad Young if Young had a lingering injury?

Who's gonna beat them?

Without a 20ppg scorer at PG that can shoot, they could lose to any number of teams - Wiz, Celtics being the most likely.

Wizards aren't doing any damage as long as they continue having a WOAT bench. Wall destroying Rose won't matter when he's on fumes by the time the 4th quarter hits.

Celtics aren't beating Cleveland with their charmin frontcourt

Cavs don't exactly have the best frontcourt themselves

Sounds like a long winded way of saying Ainge won this deal if it goes thru
