it was actually the other way around. bron took ray and james jones on vacay right before he left miami to go back to cleveland, begged them both to join him. jones agreed, but ray basically told bron "i'll get back to you" and had him waiting the entire season for an answer

I bet it's deeper than him going to Miami. I read somewhere that Ray isn't really a people person at all and doesn't try to front like he is. He doesn't socialize with players outside of the arena, doesn't do the player bonding shyt. KG and Paul are the complete opposite of that. Bruh none of those dudes stood up for ray when ray was in trade rumors for nearly two years and they get made he decides to leave rather being told where to go by management

Attempted to trade him on multiple occasions, wanted to bench him in favor of Avery Bradley....then when the season was over....made that 2 year 12 million dollar offer to save face after learning he was considering Miami. If not for the Miami rumors, he probably would not have even gotten an offer.
