Bron says you can't compare 80's and 90's players playing 82 games to today's game due to the faster pace.

You don’t know wtf you’re talking about

The pistons got the best record in the league and they not out there hoisting 3s every night. Pistons actually rank in the bottom 5. Then look at most of the teams leading in the 3pt attempt category, more than half are lottery bound lol

Always easy to tell who don’t watch basketball here :mjlol:

The analytic nerds got their heads messed up. The analytic nerds were pushing their 3 pointer above all agenda to get athleticism and physicality out of the game.

The Pistons are proving that good ole simple basketball is still thriving with tough minded, physical, and talented players who allow themselves to be coached.

Bron legs are SHOT. All Star break can't get here fast enough. He doesn't get back in transition and you can kiss playing defense out the window. He doesn't give a damn about the win column either. It's all about stats. If he gotta flop, cherry pick, travel, shyt it don't matter. He gotta get his offensive stats.

Dog it's embarrassing the type of performances he puts out. Especially on the key matchup games and ceremony games.

He clearly gives zero fukks about winning and look at how happy he was to talk about himself in the post game interview.

Cuz even looked for the camera before he started, tearing up and crying during the tribute. I hate to say it about everything with this guy is corny and try hard status, especially at this point in his career

It's like ESPN and Klutch are forcing LeBron down our throats whereas we genuinely enjoyed watching Mike and Kobe their last year.

"Estimated number of possessions" without telling you how they estimated it is about as bad a way to try and determine what "pace" is as it gets.

You look at any stats for dribbles and it shows you players dribble more now than ever.

You look at any stat for distance it shows you that players cover more distance now than ever because you pretty much have to defend from the rim to a step outside the 3 point line.

Shot attempts per game on average are way up from 40 years ago. From what you posted only two teams shot the ball 90 times a game in the 85 season but in the 2025 season 9 teams shot at least that many. Damn near a 3rd of the league getting up as many shots as the two teams who shot the most in the 85 season. How are these current teams getting up more shots on a game to game basis if the teams from 40 years ago have a faster pace?

So you think that players can dribble more than ever, cover more ground than ever, shoot the ball more on a game to game basis than ever, but the pace can be faster 40 years ago?

And yeah shooting 3's has a ton to do with calf injuries, cause players are leaping out to defend them. If I told you to find me 20 clips of shaq defending a 3 pointer in his entire career I bet you couldn't. If I told you to find me 20 clips of Giannis defending a 3 pointer you probably could in 2 or 3 games. Who you think is going to start having leg injuries faster, the giant 7 foot guy who never jumps out full extension to defend a shot or the giant 7 foot guy who jumps out full extension to defend a shot multiple times a game? Do you think it's possible to dribble more than ever move around the court more than ever and shoot the ball more than ever WITHOUT also getting injured more than ever :russ:. Players are going to do all the things you can do on a basketball court more than they ever have but they NOT going to also get hurt more than they ever have?

You guys got to stop being like "misc cac number 15 posted a stat that says it was faster in the 80's so it's faster" without saying to yourself wait what

You start factoring in shyt like play in games, 1st round being 7 games, and more overtime games, players are now even playing more minutes of basketball than ever before on top of everything else :russ:
your overall point stands with the ground covered or explosive movements on defense, but the difference in pace is the amount of 2's attempted and thus more trips to the ft line. 24-25 had 51.7 2pt attempts and 21.7 ft attempts. 84-85 had 86 2pt attempts and 29.4 ft attempts.

Im shocked to see 90% of the internet disagree with him. How can you actively watch modern basketball and not see how much more lateral movement is involved on offensive and defensive. not only that 3-5 move way more than they did yesteryear.
Because these cats are retarded and old. They view anything that doesn't glorify the weak ass era they grew up on as an attack. Plus, it's Lebron saying it so that gets them in their feelings even more. Simple logic would tell you that players are covering more ground in today's NBA than in the past.

2025 Joel Embiid would be able to play all 82 games in the 1990s :mjlol:
