He won't be for a long time. If Biden doesn't die before 2024 and decides to not run, Kamala will be next in line to run. The earliest Newsome could have a shot is maybe 2028.

You're probably right.. but I wonder if a more progressive (not FAR left) candidate like Newsome would get the nod, if its either him, or another 4-8 years of Trumpism.

I don’t know. Before Covid, perhaps, but I think the political landscape has changed significantly since the pandemic exposed just how inadequate our healthcare and safety nets are. As evidenced by how many still refuse to work, even after the unemployment extension ended, a growing number of Americans are simply fed up with the inequities of American society and want a radical shift.

I am not so certain a centrist Democrat has a clear path to the nomination in 2024.

As evidenced by how many still refuse to work, even after the unemployment extension ended, a growing number of Americans are simply fed up with the inequities of American society and want a radical shift.

If a centrist can't win in 2024 then a progressive damn sure won't be able to win.

I feel like the progressive base has become unhinged enough to turn away a good amount of left leaning people. They've started shytting on their own politicians for not being crazy extreme left. AOC has been "canceled" for becoming a more effective senator, "the squad" are now establishment shills, Bernie is a centrist now.

The reality that the world these super far left cacs live in is so far removed from the real world. Some of these people sound like they want flat out socialism.

I remember the LA times anointed him Cali’s most liberal governor ever. He is too aligned with the Bernie and Warrens of the world, so that shyt won’t fly with the moderate Dems. He’s not making it out of the primaries IMO. Kamala is probably getting washed as well in 2024 if she doesn’t hold the center.

That Vice President stimulus. For some reason, VP equals extra qualifications and experience for many voters. At the same time, however; Kamala drop the ball a little this year with the immigration thing among others so we'll see how that goes.
