Draymond Green vs The World...Day 1: Kyrie Irving

I'm struggling to find a good post in this thread. Why are dudes saying 'all Kyrie can do is score'? Why are dudes saying 'just imagine how bad a team would be with Draymond as the #1 option'?

The blueprint for a team around Kyrie is the same as it was for Iverson and other volume scorers, get a bunch of dirty work role players and a rebounding frontcourt.

It's easier to find the Taj Gibsons/Robin Lopezs of the world than it is to find elite scorers that can hit the three and play pseudo SG to Draymond being a playmaker at the 4.

Taj/Robin Lopez's of the world won't get your team titles.

If you want to in a title you would much rather than a Draymond on your team than a Kyrie.

I don't see how the two are comparable bc they are both asked to do different things. I think Kyrie is the better player but if I had to draft a team I'd take Draymond. His overall skillset is impressive and he doesn't necessarily need to score to be effective.

Also how can you say Draymond can't score. Did yall see Game 7? He stepped up to the plate unlike some players on his team

Drafting a team to win a title, I'm taking Green as my #2 before Kyrie. Green does so much for your team, be it outside shooting or play making or rebounding or defense at literally any position, and he takes nothing away. Kyrie is a good shooter and an elite driver, but he can only defend one position, is a liability on the pick-and-roll, and he keeps the ball long enough to disrupt the flow of offense and keep shots from other players sometimes.

Kyrie is better on offense and Draymond is better on defense. But Draymond is still a fantastic piece on offense that can fit in a lot of ways, while Kyrie has to be fit around by guys who hide his weaknesses.
