Dudes are looking for coaching around this. Like seriously....
In fairness to the poster nobody is absolving fitz of the blame.

But if you're the coach and you watch your qb throw pick after pick it's probably better to try a different approach rather than keep doing what's failing.

Fitz throwing this picks is on him. The coaches not adjusting to what was happening is most definitely on them.

If a a RB fumbles the ball a few times to the other team in the redzone what coach in their right mind would keep handing it to him there? He would be benched or they'd try something else. Same principle.

There is some truth to that, considering the chiefs were still dropping 8 men on 2nd and goal. But Fitz still made bad throws.

His throw to Robbie Anderson should have been a TD earlier in the game as well, but Rob was forced to slow down.

Look at this bs. he loses in a way "certain" Jets fans like.

They still try to have this guy come out winning somehow.

not an indictment on him...it's on the fans and media who refuse to admit being wrong abouthim.

Remember, this is what the billboard people wanted. Maccagnan has been a total trainwreck as a GM.

The current GM didn't draft him and is not vested in playing him. In addition, he's a FA at the end of the season and neither side is looking to extend the relationship. If Fitzpatrick were to get benched, it would be for Petty.

Geno only sees the field if Fitz breaks his leg or something in the next 2-3 games. Once the season is too far gone(3-7,4-8), Petty will be starting.

It's not like Geno or Petty haven't been evaluated the last two years either. I think the most likely conclusion is the organization doesnt think either have starter potential and both are walls to prevent Hackenberg from actually having to see the field if Fitz were to get hurt. The Jets longterm outlook at QB, is as usual- fukked.

when you are at the mercy of the season ticket holder its a tough business when you dont have a longterm solution at QB. Idzik clearing the ledger and remaining flexible got him canned because of this bizarre notion you have to hit on every single draft pick every time. Now we're saddled with bad contracts all over the place, most notably the secondary. Fitzpatrick here on a 1 year deal is really low on the list of long term problems. The team has already made the conclusion that neither Geno or Petty can start. Woody being reactionary is never going to change...

Geno was ahead of him at camp in 2015 until his jaw got rocked. No one would have been stupid enough to start him after week 5 when Fitz developed continuity with the corp, so I hope that stops you from asking "why didn't he replace him then."

Geno and Petty was outplaying him agian in camp but Bowles dumb ass announced that he was the starter if he ever came back. But the media would ignore all of Fitz camp picks (I posted numerous times that he was stinking it up in camp), focusing on their Petty over Geno lust.

Now Woody and Bowles have to save face and live with hand they showed.

GOOD

Regardless of your thoughts on the QB situation its pretty irrelevant to the long term out look of this regime. There has been a chain reaction of stupid decisions by this organization since the fans went overboard on the previous GM.

Reality check- Maccganans drafts havent been all that great either.

No...its not regardless.

It's the truth....and you also rocked for this bum and now acting as some neutral observer passing the buck to Mac.

Nope....you're talk radio right along with the bs.

The GM handing out the checks is a bit more important to the long term outlook of the franchise than the stopgap QB on a one year contract.

Fitzpatrick is obviously going to be the starter this year until they're eliminated.

Hmmmm.....funny you bring up long term....when you backed starting Fitz and at the same time couldn't commit to the belief that he could take us to the playoffs.

So you agree he could provide us neither immediate rewards nor long term help, but wanted him to waste your Jets time anyway.

Nothing being spelled out above is wrong.

Of course I'm backing Fitzpatrick. He's the best QB on the roster. If we could go back and not hire Maccagnan I'd love to but that's not going to happen
