Impact = Kendrick

Legacy= Gucci

Gucci never had the impact on the level of Kendrick and is still pretty slept on even in his lane. He never made that one song or album that just created a ripple effect. I'm not talking about songs and albums that his fans or fans of trap rap were on. He doesn't have the type of impact that early T.I. and early Jeezy had. Even though a lot of people first heard Jeezy on Gucci's "So Icy", people give Jeezy more credit for taking trap rap mainstream than they do Gucci. Then there's the fact that it was the first time they heard a Zaytoven track. There's a plethora of artists and producers that Gucci put on, but a lot of people aren't up on it, which is why Gucci has more of a legacy of putting people on vs. him being impactful.
nikka,please.
Wop hot for real.
Kendrick is force fed to the people and should be big as drake or nicki considering his push.
But he's yet to deliver anything of note.
None of the projects with "critical acclaim" meant anything on the streets

You do know that Future's style was birthed by Lil Wayne right :martin:

get all the way the fukk out of here, I've been a Cash Money fan since 400 Degree's and I've heard all of if not 95% of music Wayne released under Cash Money and this is complete bullshyt.

Wayne's style is nothing close to Futures.

smh, y'all stay reaching to make a point.

Gucci Mane has always had a cult following. And it's not like in '09, there wasn't a huge industry push to make Gucci a star.

And yes, Kendrick has songs that mean something on the streets. Again, one of his songs is an anthem of protests against police brutality.

Gucci Mane had a single with Usher. They had him on a Mariah Carey single. It's a far cry from the type of music that built Gucci Mane's following. "Lemonade" is exactly the type of record that should've been pushed vs. "Spotlight" featuring Usher. Even die hard Gucci fans had to cringe at songs like "Spotlight" and "Gucci Tyme".

It's not about what people are riding to in your city. There's people in multiple cities using Kendrick's music as a soundtrack to their protests.

Kendrick is hot but as hot as you claim? fukk no
Gucci mane did get mainstream push, as you've just mentioned, these songs with User and Mariah was the push. did it go well? I don't know, but Gucci's following came way before a usher song or a mariah song. and as fukked up as it is, and as unpolitical correct as this may be, Kendrick is never going to be more influential than Gucci with the population of disenfranchised Americans, especially Black Americans. my personal opinion.

This isn't even a discussion about who's hot. It's about impact and legacy.

In terms of Gucci's mainstream push, it didn't go well because it deviated too far from what made Gucci. The records didn't do much for Gucci in terms of crossing him over or making him a star.

Did I not acknowledge Gucci following pre- "Spotlight" featuring Usher and his feature on Mariah's song?

Kendrick is already more influential on the population of disenfranchised Americans especially Black Americans.

get out your feelings.

Kendrick has no legacy as he's done nothing to solidify a "Legacy"
he has no impact because he just doesn't.

Gucci Mane has a Legacy, all be it a street and goon one. he has one. and his music reflects and supports this fact
Gucci has way more impact in rap and american culture than Kendrick.

I don't know of anyone saying they want to be Kendrick, but you had the entire ATL not only screaming Free Gucci but all doing their best to fill the void Gucci left when he was locked up.

you disagree because you in your feelings, Kendrick has time to be all that you want but as of right now he's not there and no where near there.
