only some of the best albums the genre has seen in this decade

Only the best albums the genre has seen?

are you serious? and please don't throw up his sales figures because going Platinum never ever means you have impact or "best albums".

Kendrick is talented. I don't take that away from him. but I don't think Kendrick is anywhere near being this iconic figure you and other users are alluding to.

Again, Does Kendrick have the potential to be as big as you think? Most Definitely
but as of right now, Kendrick has a ways to go and unfortunately for him, right now this trap shyt is dominating.

Y'all are hyping Kendrick up entirely too much.

I swear ever since I joined I been trying to find out whats the Coli's weird and strange hatred towards Kendrick. Only on the Coli and no other site. The OP is clearly trolling Kendrick stans.
it's not hate but I've noticed since "Section 80" people been trying to force others to acknowledge Kendrick as some King or God of rap. and he isn't.

Is he nice? sure.
is he a king/leader? fukk no

It's always "hate" when people disagree with thoughts like "Kendrick is better" or "Kendrick is the best". but it's just bullshyt that people keep saying Kendrick is the best and has yet to release anything of substance that earns him these titles and accolades.

Well Gucci does have like a 10 year head start on Kendrick so right now he has more of a legacy.....

But impact? Gucci isn't even in the conversation to me. He hasn't released a single project that has had the impact of any of Kendrick albums

I like Gucci, but give me Kendrick

Outside maybe his stans(and ALL stans do this), I hardly seen people praise Kendrick as the king or God of rap.

What? lmao, you reading through this thread?

and no, not all stars do this. I stan for about 3 rappers, and been stanning for them for about 10+ years now. but I don't make up no bullshyt or try and make them above other artists if they aren't. but Kendrick and Drake stans are a new bread of fan, also add in the BeeHive.

now a days people live outside of reality through the acts and actions of their preferred musicians. when I was growing up, it was a little like this but no where near as heavy as fans do now.

People give Kendrick a little too much props, and make it seem like he's the savior of rap when he isn't.

lol then it's nothing we can debate, I'm debating from a objective standpoint. you're debating from an emotional and subjective standpoint.

It's not from an objective standpoint if you're in here saying Kendrick has had no impact. I'm not being emotional because I'm not a fan/stan of either artist.

Nah, Gucci's stan base is THAT rabid. You have posters in here calling Gucci an icon and saying Gucci impacted American culture without explaining how. I've even seen posters go as far as saying Gucci is more influential than Dre.

A lot of criticisms aimed at Kendrick here sound like low-key tapdancin', the exact type of stuff that's usually frowned upon here.

Gucci has impacted American Culture and really world rap/hiphop culture due to how he influenced the local ATL rappers as well as those outside of ATL who try to mimic Gucci's steps.

Am I a Gucci fan? Yes. do I think he's more influential than Kendrick and Dre? as of September the 4th, 2016... yes.

No one follows Dre's maneuvers unless they are individuals who want to mimic Dre's business mind and business hustle. No one follows Kendrick to the point of "Damn, he sounds like Kendrick" or some shyt. Kendrick is nice, but to deny the impact Gucci has had (either Directly or indirectly) is bullshyt hate on Gucci because he's a trap rapper.

Again, Kendrick has the potential to be all the things that his fans and followers want him to be or believe he currently is. but as of 2016, Kendrick is not influential as Gucci is. and Gucci (although you all may not like it due to his music, past or image) is more influential than both Kendrick and Dre when we're talking strictly musical and cultural (dress, speech, even drug choice).
