How in god's name does Dr. Dre have so many votes? What is wrong with people?
Wondering the same thing.

The only one who's not getting the memo is you. You can't say that "nobody" cares about "Phat Rabbit" because you only represent one person. All I'm seeing here is you speaking on a subject you know nothing about. You're posing as a "hip hop head" to disguise the fact that you don't know what you're talking about. You always do that to dismiss, downplay, or deflect instead of just simply stating your opinion and leaving it at that. Instead, you always try to paint yourself as a "cultural guy" without really offering the background or perspective to back up your claims other than making broad generalizations.
who did you vote out anyway?
you just dont get it buddy.
and i didnt expect you to. youre more of a commercial guy.
I voted off Kanye.
In terms of me being commercial, call it what you want. If I'm not mistaken Dre, Tim, Pharrell, and Kanye are all "commercial" producers.
the thing is, the others have more of a legit hip-hop portfolio.
timbaland's crowning achievement in hip-hop is producing radio jingles.
Timbaland's done more than "radio jingles". Dr. Dre's portfolio is the only one that's head and shoulders above the others (breaking artists, classic albums, longevity, credibility).
@ bolded: like what?
i agree, dre is the only one i can put in the top 10 with a str8 face. but timbaland has to go because he didnt contribute anything of any real worth.
neptunes broke the clipse & put on fam-lay & roscoe - even tho they didnt get to do anything.
kanye had at least 3 nice albums, laced common on arguably his best cd, assembled a nice lil crew.
cant say timbaland was behind anything noteworthy. he had ms jade and dropped the ball cuz he didnt know how to work a serious rap artist. i know people online love that 2nd bubba sparxx album, but i never heard a peep about it IRL.
Timbaland contributed in that there's a plethora of producers who are influenced by his sound. He did to Hip Hop what he did to R&B. He introduced a new sound that changed the way drums were programmed.
Timbaland broke Missy and put on Petey Pablo and Bubba Sparxxx who actually did get to do something.
It's funny you're going to sit there and downplay Tim, but then say The Neptunes broke The Clipse and then list Fam-Lay and Roscoe P. Coldchain all while saying they didn't get to do anything.
I picked Kanye, because his sound had no effect on the other three. Two of the three producers in the discussion (Dre and Timbaland) impacted and influenced how a Kanye beat sounds and that's by Kanye's own admission. To me, that made him expendable because removing Kanye doesn't change what the other three did. That's not to say he's wack, but coupled with me enjoying the other's productions more is why he had to go.
Tim didn't drop the ball with Ms. Jade. Songs like "The Dream", "Stick Up Girl", "She's A Gangsta", and basically the more street songs is what they were going for. Interscope wanted to turn her into Missy Elliott 2.0 when Missy was at the height of her popularity. That's how they ended up with "Big Head" as single instead of records like "Count It Off" or "Dead Wrong".
i can dig what youre saying about kanye. i dig it.
that wasnt even timbo's own sound. timbo ran with what those memphis cats were doing in the bassment.
lol @ missy, petey pablo & bubba sparxxx being his crowning achievements.
roscoe couldnt do anything because he kept getting booked. i heard similar about fam-lay. they didnt get to blow up, but they still dropped those gems.
you dont get it breh. timbo & missy just didnt know what they were doing with ms jade. theyre not hip-hop people.
@SirBiatch i found it.

Missy wasn't behind Ms. Jade. Timbaland was. Timbaland and Missy are Hip Hop. Legendary MC's from the Golden Era of Hip Hop (the 80's) have co-signed both.

It was Timbaland's sound. I've listened to what SPK was doing and it doesn't sound like the Timbaland sound. SPK's work is more closely related to DJ Paul & Juicy J sonically than what Timbaland was doing. Timbaland's drums and beats overall sound cleaner and SPK's beats weren't as rhythmic or as bouncy as Tim's. There definitely wasn't any chirping birds, crickets, or background vocal effects in his beats either. There's an influence there, but he didn't run with their sound.
I didn't say Petey Pablo or Bubba Sparxxx were his crowning achievements. They were acts that he had success with vs. you bringing up Roscoe P. Coldchain and Famlay. Roscoe and Famlay's legal problems are excuses and cop-outs. I was listening to everything those guys were putting out at one point. None of it popped off and it wasn't because of legal trouble. I remember waiting for their albums, but it didn't materialize. Roscoe had "Delinquent" in rotation and he was featured on the original and remix of "Cot Damn". All were staples on Rap City, but didn't generate enough hype for an album release. Same goes for Fam-Lay's "Rock N Roll" even with the Lil' Flip feature (and Flip was huge at the time). Meanwhile, "Raise Up" and "Ugly" were two huge hits for two rappers that went from obscurity to having hit songs produced by Timbaland.

i'll wait.thanks for showing the clip, breh.
Too bad it doesn't prove anything with regards to Timbaland/Missy not being hip hop. In fact, it's never addressed in this
regarding the Memphis sound, you're tripping over yourself trying to not give Timbaland credit. First it's "he sound just like Devante" to "He sound just like Memphis." It's getting ridiculous now. Is it something personal with you and Timbaland?
But let Wacky D tell it, who was barely alive in the 80s (if alive at all), they aint hip hop
Bambaataa is a big Missy fan and pretty much mentioned her right out the gate as good hip hop, but no, they aint hip hop till Wacky D says so.
Just give up already.

legendary emcees from the '80s cosign macklemore too.
am i supposed to be impressed?
if those arent timbaland's crowning achievements, then who are they?i'll wait.
i dont care what materialized into an album. those roscoe & fam-lay videos were hood classics. i dont sit around and wait for the industry to dictate whats hot. lol.
"raise up" & "ugly" were dope. not taking anything away, but they were radio records that didnt materialize into SERIOUS buzzes for either artist.
i didnt say they werent hip-hop. im saying theyre not hip-hop people.
not that it matters but i was a rap fan in the '80s. everybody doesnt wait until they get into their 20s to start listening to rap like you.![]()

The statement wasn't made for you to be impressed. It was made because you're dismissing Timbaland and Missy as if you're an authority on Hip Hop..
![]()
good thing you wised up and edited this out
edit: nevermind. You put it back in. What a confused fukkboy![]()
lol.
i stopped reading right there. you two are giving me a headache.
i never acted as an authority on hip-hop. its just that alot of things are foreign to you and @SirBiatch. its a common theme with the both of you. its adorable actually.
how am i moving goal-posts when this is what ive been saying from the start?
youre just a half-wit that took forever to get the gist of what i was saying. youre probably still lost.
Talmin bout "yo that Doggystyle album had a bigger impact. Timbaland was copying the West Coast. I've been listening to hip hop since before being in my daddy's nutsack."
