I'm in Computer Sci right now and fear I'm already too deep in this computer science shyt to turn back :wow:

Just was inquiring about IT because I know it's less math/coding and generally it seems like you have more "chill" days in the work world. What's the difference between CS and IT in your opinions?

I get asked that question all the time and it's completely irrelevant IMO. Once you're in, you're in :ahh:

It's all about what you make of your career. There was a dude at my old job who was cold as fukk with Cisco/CheckPoint shyt but didn't wanna study for any certs. He knew all the shyt and could knock em out in a few months time, but he just had no discipline. He's literally making 100k less than he would be because he don't wanna pass a few exams.

Bro there's litteraly millions of companies in thr world and they all need tech help. Unless that joint a fortune 100-200, most people prob won't know what it is. That's the beauty of this industry.
I agree. But I could've sworn Avaya was damn near Cisco in terms of phone marketshare

Breh, I don't apply for jobs :mjlol:. I haven't had to apply for a job in like 4-5 years.

Breh, I'm sorry to disappoint you but you're wrong :heh:. They don't require a degree. The job descriptions always say the same thing. Bachelors or relevant experience. Masters or relevant experience. And the jobs that typically don't require a degree are the entry level jobs like help desk.

I get hundreds of these emails breh. Every week. And I post them in the IT careers thread so dudes can see what they should be learning if they want to hit 70+/hr.

No I'm not wrong. You are. I'm Just stating facts. IT is a big field. It's not just network engineers and software engineers. You are focusing on the one side/aspect related to your experience and trying to apply that to the whole industry. I get emails from recruiters and on linkedin all the time as well. That has nothing to do with my point. Not sure why you are so insecure about this. It's like your trying to prove something to yourself to make you feel better about yourself.

There are job postings and companies that require a degree. That's not an opinion. It's a fact. Not trying to hurt your feelings but it is what it is. I never said every job and every company in IT requires it. I said you are limited in what you can apply for and that is true. My company wouldn't look twice at your resume regardless of experience for my position cause they require a degree just to sit for an interview. Perhaps if you had a degree your reading comprehension skills would be better.

Of course they require specialized experience. Nobody is denying that. But you don't need a degree to get that experience. And the only person telling nikkas to pass a cert and make 70k was @Xtraz2.

But you are denying this by oversimplifying this point. See your post below. Most brehs getting into IT don't have the specialized experience needed and they wont get it just working at the help desk either. But a degree will help you progress much faster once you get experience to go with it.

Will a degree help? Absolutely. Is it required? Absolutely not.
This was the whole point of my original post. Not sure why you even typed all this if you agreed that a degree will help you in IT. I never said it was required for every job posting or company.
