Nah bruh, Rap is really better than ever, and as it gets harder and harder to make money from being a rapper the quality of music is going to go up. Once it gets to the point where you can no longer get rich quick rapping, the only people left are going to be the people that make music for the sake of making good music. Plus, there's some incredible music being made already, YG just dropped a classic album that honestly trumps a lot of the old West Coast Classics, Kendrick did the same damn thing a year ago, Kanye is really making some incredibly creative shyt, Travis Scott is following in his footsteps, lyricism is more popular than ever guys like Danny Brown, Action Bronson and Earl Sweatshirt are really out here prospering. Beats are being taken to a whole new level with modern technology, a lot of creative shyt that no one really thought to blend together or create is coming from producers, shyt is highkey kind of :obama: right now

nikka get all the way the fukk up outta here with that shyt tho :camby:
YGs album was was better than what west coast classic :comeon:

lemme tell you somethin' man... i've listened to it all for the most part. just bout any kind of hip hop an rap you can name or think of, i've heard it

hip hop and rap music on a whole as a movement for the last 17 years has been horrible. that's not to say there hasn't been any good albums here or there but the overall movement is not as prolific as it use to be

sure, i've enjoyed some releases over the past 17 years like everythin' from that underground to the mainstream but the average of what's good to great now pales in comparison to what was great in the late 80's to mid 90's. it's like night and day

oh and i'm sure a lot of it is me gettin' older and not havin' any connection to it. but then too, good or great music is just that, great music and the majority of what's been released these past 17 years ain't it :camby:

There you have it folks!! :ehh:

@OP ... all the way with you breh.

Music just outright fukkin sucks and is uninspiring now....

After 50.... After Wayne... Rap is pretty much over.... it's a wRAP.... no pun intended.

All I listen to now and then is some old gucci...

What happened to Jeezy? What happened to Tip? What happened to those mid level, semi-iconic rappers, that didn't quite reach Jay-Z type status?

Rap is just fukkin pathetic now.... It's over.

Just spend your time getting money and try to find out how to get money..... Rap dying will be better for you.

I'm not gonna say it completely wack, but the rap game is kinda weak right now...

I mean you have no real rap groups any more. Videos are a after thought, no more rap city or yo MTV raps. The rap magazine is damn near dead, nikka's don't have The Source, Vibe and I've haven't read a XXL in years....

The Internet has been the gift and the curse for rap in my opinion..

It's still a few cats out here doing it right but overall the rap culture isn't what it used to be

No. Jada and P killed "We Gon Make it" and nikkas are still quoting the song YEARS after it came out on this very forum. My bathtub liff up my walls do a 360.

Right, it's a song from everyones child hood that we all like, just like I said. The fukk you telling me 'no' about my own personal take on the song

The song isn't as catchy as 'Started From The Bottom' and I stand by that. Hook for hook one is super catchy and one isn't.
