So, what, did they rule there was an eligible receiver in the area? Or he was outside the tackle box...it was off tackle.

Then there's the hold :mindblown:

I wish I could find the play...dude was not even outside of the tackle box...he got hit as soon as he got the ball. It was blatant cheating by the refs

Yea, I remember that...what did they even claim there?

Apparently they called it a forward pass:

After several minutes of debate, the refs overturn the call, restoring a meaningless TD off the board making the final score 11-10, the Steelers win, the public loses. What I found to be most odd about it is the league's explanation of a "forward pass". The pass was ruled forward although it is obvious it was a backwards lateral. When I got home, I starting thinking that things were just to good to be true.

Sportscenter reported the money lost in Vegas and almost joked about it. They were literally laughing. So after this bad beat, I held around some serious thoughts about the legitimacy of pro football.

It's not the same HC getting recycled breh. This ain't the NBA. You look at all the new hires and they're all new guys. Except for maybe a few like Reid, who has a proven track record, these new hires are typically guys that have not had a HC gig. Bruce Arians, Chip Kelly, Marc Tresman are all new HC this year that have not had a HC job before. The year before Mularkey, Dennis Allen, Joe Philbin, Schiano, and Pagano were all first time HCs. You can even look beyond the past two years. Point being, the recycled HCs argument only really works in the NBA.

To your other points, I'm not arguing that the NFL shares revenue. But the marquee teams who are always winning make even more money that the teams that keep losing. As an NFL owner, for example the Browns, why would he agree to a strategy (fixing games on that level) that gives all the leverage to the teams like the Patriots year after year? shyt doesn't make sense.

Like I said, I think there are crooked refs out there that influence games for their own benefit. But some of the conspiracy theories about Kraft orchestrating who wins and loses is :snoop:
I don't necessarily mean the same coaches getting HC jobs.
but alot of coordinators and head coaches are alternating and getting new jobs and being fired.
the old boys club.

Marquee teams will always make the most money though, you can't deny that.
BUT teams like Cleveland will NEVER be able to get that marquee money, but they are still making huge profits from those marquee teams.

those marquee teams are the ones that keep those other teams living, and running strong(financially)

don't let these owners trick you in to thiking that they can't compete because they can.

The problem with this is the argument for fixing the NFL is multi-facet, for one it has gambling implications and on a larger scale its make the game more entertaining and brings more revenue. Just giving a player a ring just because their great and/or giving teams rings just because their good doesn't really do much for entertainment value, being that it's already an entertaining story in and of itself (you can argue that it it can have a certain "feel good" story to it, that a team or player finally achieves a presumably insurmountable goal). Stuff like the "Gruden Bowl", "The Harbaugh Bowl", NO post-Katrina, the "Patriots" post-911 are entertaining stories that watching public want to see.

An interesting storyline that's brewing along that ilk is the Redskin's name change. You have THE President of the nation commenting on it, Dan Snyder's neighbor recently trademarked a new name, if in fact they do change it it's going to be at the uproar of alot of the fans but the one way to dispell that bickering is to win...it's going to be interesting to watch how that plays out...

As a Redskins fan...I'll welcome it, we've suffered enough, I certainly know where my money is going to be if it happens

To add to your point. On another note how about The Boston Bombing then 6 months later Boston wins the World Series. :childplease:

Here is an article on how a man unsuccessfully tried to trademark the "Harbowl" way before the Super Bowl match was determined.

this also leads to the deflate gate thing being a fake waste of time. a Ball is deflated, who cares ? theres a couple hundred pages report that leads to nothing more than a 4 game suspension. No title taken or anything remotely important. Its a bunch of fluff news made up bullcrap

Yup. Controversy draws numbers and this bullshyt scandal keeps the NFL on fan's minds year round...

When was this game? I'd like to see the highlights. I have a hard time believing they'd do something blatantly like that. I bet there's something you're missing.

A RB can throw a forward pass if he hasn't crossed the line, but if there's no eligible receiver, that would be intentional grounding and thus a safety.

Green Bay has the NFL in it's pocket

i dont think the games are fixed like we want this team to win type of fix. but i do think on certain games playoffs big games during the year and super bowl nfl will make them games close. i think after st louis rams vs Tennessee titans in that super bowl changed everything.
