the other thing is if you look at Brock who was pushed to the main event quickly too, you will see the difference. Brock in 02 was beating legends and was doing it in a way where you took notice, not back and forth hard fought battles (Roman/Bryan) where he doesn't build much character; he (Brock) just annihilated them showcasing him as a true monster. He also had Heyman speaking for him which helped too.

In hindsight, Roman should have been the one to turn on the Shield, join the authority, build up his on little stable and call it the Roman Empire and dominate for a lil bit then have the authority turn on him and have Roman become a tweener Goldberg-esque character.

Vince should've fallen back after Roman got over again winning the title back from Sheamus on Raw. They immediately fukked him over again with that announcement that he had to defend the title in the Royal Rumble, meaning he was either going to win the Rumble again, or chase the title at WM to become a three time champ and fans weren't having either one of them. Seriously, look at the crowd reaction here:

Yep. I'm not sure if it were just the Philly fans, but whatever it was, the WWE had accomplished everything they wanted with Reigns. The crowd was eating out the palm of his hands, and they completely fukked it up just two weeks later. They built League of Nations solely guys heels to get washed by Reigns, and it ACTUALLY WORKED, but the WWE blew it.

Every part of the push with Reigns was one year too soon.

He should not have broken the eliminations record in his first Rumble. Do so in the second, and then when his third one.

He should not have main evented Wrestlemania 31. 32 should have been his first one.

Yet and still, when Roman won the belt from Sheamus in Philly, it had worked. They had it. And they fukked it. They tried to do too much with him instead of letting things organically happen.

Didn't Kurt angle do all of those things in like 18 months though?

There is just no reason to like reigns and celebrate him beating people with more character than he, especially fan favorites like rusev and Wyatt, no matter his moveset or workrate.

Actually Kurt Angle forgot about Goldberg and Brock...neither one went through any ringer they were main event status on arrival...although Goldberg was having a streak built up and his matches were squash attractions like Warrior.

There was that one moment where people wanted Roman to eliminate Batista and the fans went crazy...oh that seems like so long ago, they really fukked Roman up and pushed him too soon

WWE is stupid they should have allowed Bryan his shine and let Roman remain in the cut protected and eventually built up...that way they would have had an actual successor babyface once Bryan couldn't do it anymore for health reasons
