Everyone on this board needs to understand that LaVar's position is not in the best interests of Lonzo, it's in the best interests of LAVAR.
You all realize there's a way for Lonzo to have his cake and eat it too, right? Lonzo can take a rookie endorsement deal with Nike, and if he turns into a huge star, either re-up with them OR sign an exclusive deal with BBB once his first deal expires? Then, at that point, the BBB brand will actually have some demonstrable market value and will actually make a licensing deal with someone much more likely (probably not the big 3 and still probably not at the royalty rates LaVar wants)?
Have you ever asked yourself why LaVar isn't doing that instead when it's the simplest and most obvious solution? The answer is because LaVar personally makes NOTHING during the term of Lonzo's first deal, whereas if he holds out for a licensing deal with BBB (which he owns), then the profits will flow directly into his pockets.
Keep in mind this is a guy who has been trying to figure out how to monetize his children from before they were even conceived. And ask yourself if supporting a man who is taking a ridiculous business position with zero leverage at no cost to himself but at the potential cost of millions to his son is really the right play here?
I think Lavar is being a great father and is looking out for Lonzo's interests. Is he domineering? Yes. A loudmouth? Yup. But he's playing the game for his family's sake. This has all helped Lonzo.
He's a modern day Joe Jackson.
might be tough to compete

Lavar got to be trolling.
