Majority of sample based producers tbh

Majority of madlib beats are just straight up loops with no drums added just the sample raw

Daringer too

EDIT the topic is beat making not digging. Madlib uses majority loops straight from records. go to whosampled and you'll see them shyts I straight 4 or 8 bar loops. No drums added or baseline or synths or keys. And don't start suckin my dikk inoe he can chop and flip shyt too madlib is the producer I've listened and studied the most besides havoc and dilla.

As someone who makes sample based beats as a hobby, you dudes are showing a little ignorance. First of all, it's damn near impossible to listen to a beat and determine the producer was being lazy. Being a producer is sort of a thankless job. You can spend hours or literally days looking for the right sample. Then you might fukk around and spend hours finding the right hi hat or snare to fire. Then you might have to layer them or tweak them. So the consumer may hear a snare drum, but they don't know that you went through a library of hundreds of snare drums to find the perfect one, the slightly lowered the pitch, them layerd it with a hi hat or wood instrument to tweak the sound. Then spent more time getting the levels right. Just for the snare! But the listener will not know this unless they seen you making ththe beat.

Now I'm not saying producer can't be lazy. I'm saying that as a consumer, you can't tell by listening to the beat. Even if the beat is "simple"

:ehh: i dont sample but I know that snare struggle all too well...funny shyt is when you play something for someone and be cysed about a sound you created from layering, pitching and eqing all night..and they flat out dont know, show, or care.:francis:
