Safe to say Eric used "Hall & Nash" better than Khan used "Punk & Bryan"

Punk and Bryan's debut came and went in 5 months

Meanwhile...nWo's legacy lives on 26 years later and moved the needle
:wow:

If Hall and Nash had jumped ship in this decade it would of fizzled out as well.

Nah. They came in with a storyline. Punk came out and said thank you like a narcissist then did nothing for 3 months. Bryan came in and just stared then wrestled bums for a month or two.

Remember the original nWo intentions was a fake WWE invasion gimmick that would've got them sued eventually and went nowhere but Hogan turning heel is what really turned that shyt into what it became. Punk and Bryan could never be like that just due to circumstances alone, bad comparison.

Punk couldn't have been a heel at least at his debut and neither could have Dbry, so idk what else was there to do but what they did?

Now's the time to be oldhead haters and start squashing babyface flippy dudes though...

DBry was and is a great heel and star wrestler but Punk is asscheeks. Overrated 145 lbs of trash with skinhead and coca cola tattoos on him that got fukked up in the octagon by a rookie bus driver practicing mma on the side. My bad, just venting. I forgot the topic but yea, DBry would thrive if Tony Khan wasn't a writer.

It's not even comparable because it was made to look like Hall was invading from the WWF. it was alot of smart play on words, kayfabe was still strong..it was the perfect blend just like it was for Austin and Tyson the night after Rumble 98 which turned the switch on for the Attitude Era.

Bryan and Punk have been used fine imo. Any comparison to the Monday Night Wars era at this point is so stupid. Wrestling's gonna have to look totally different to get that big again. I don't want to say it's impossible, but if it does happen the format and look of the show is gonna be way different than what it is now, and it has nothing to do pushing a guy who smarks love, or who has the best look, or whatever else. Other than it still being "building up fake fights so that people care" wrestling's gonna need to look and feel totally different than it is now to blow up in the mainstream again.
