Why has Lord Jamar got so interested in voicing his opinion about the integrity of hip hop culture lately?

I respect his position in hip hop, but like numerous cats have said he's a nobody to cats who grew up in the 90's. His opinion doesn't hold weight like he believes it should and the fact he is overreacting makes him look like a bitter old head, instead of an elder statesman.

What difference does it make? He sparked up a interesting discussion thats going on with the direction of the music and he made valid points. Scarface spoke up months prior and Jamar just happened to be another dude that isn't playing PC like many of your favorite rappers would.

Im all for knowledge, but violence outside of self-defense is cowardly and ignorant. Lord Jamar, Chuck D, and other pioneers frown upon that.

Jamar chose an easy target. Would he have the same opinion about Big Pun, Fat Joe or other Latin rappers? Would Star try and smack Pun too if he would say that he disagrees with a "legend" and should keep his mouth shut?

And I like Brand Nubian, don't get me wrong. Why does Jamar feel comfortable taking money from white fans (I'm sure he has plenty of fans), yet doesn't want them in his genre?
