Just to put this into perspective -

Even despite the Nets playing at the 9th fastest pace during 2002, they still had a comparable offense to the Rockets who played at the second to slowest pace - with players like Mobley, Cato, Kenny Thomas and Moochie (comparable personnel to the Nets) playing heavy minutes with Francis as the main-ballhandler.

That Kidd ran "fluid" offenses - that right there tells me you aren't qualified to speak on his game because you're just regurgitating casual fan talking points.

no matter wut the pace stats say he brought them to 2 finals

beating that spurs team twice

and mavs to another in a lesser role

and 2008 TEAM USA gold :troll:

So it's alright to use an injury excuse for Kidd, but not for Lowry? :mjpls:

Lowry's been shooting like shyt for most of the playoffs. Also, when kidd shot poorly he still got other players involved on offense, played great help defense, rebounded and was a team leader.

Shot 29% vs the Pacers in a 6 game series :dame:

But he compensated for his poor shooting by doing other things.Lowry on the other hand has been a one trick pony in the first two games of this series. He's too busy feeling sorry for himself.

kidd had a poor shooting game 7 versus a great defensive pg on a great defensive team.Lowry is struggling against Kyrie Irving.

Kidd played in various coaching systems throughout his career. He proved he could excel in both run-and-gun and half-court offenses. If any player could adapt to playing styles/speeds/systems, it was Kidd.
Kidd only really adapted later in his career when his workload lessened. He NEVER excelled in half-court offenses - you can get that shyt outta here. He didn't have the scoring ability to have the impact that the best PGs of today have on the game.

So how do you reconcile all of this with the fact that he led the league in assists by a good margin (on the Kings, no less), was 7th in steals per game, and is still a great play-maker?
What good are all those assists if he's a detriment to the team's offense? :jbhmm:

Niccas want a scoring PG that can't run an offense or control the tempo of the game to save his life....Lowry is a short, stubby 2 guard playing the 1. He's the reason the Raptors have no semblance of an offensive system at all and basically him and Demar play rec league ball where everything is one on one and ISO's. Offensively Toronto is a disaster to watch...shyt is sickening...and most of that is because they have a 5'10 chucker playing point.
This is just absolute nonsense.
You are basing this on strictly numbers and not impact or the complexion of the game and how kidd changed those dynamics.
Those numbers actually show his impact on the game - inefficient and reluctant scorer which had a ripple effect on his team's offense. Y'all dudes seem to think "impact" is based on what you biased eye tells you and how a PG is suppose to play the game, rather than what works.

You played organized hoops before right? I can understand casual fans enjoying shoot first PG's more because it's adorable to see the little man take on the giants and get buckets..

But if you played wing or post you know nothing is more frustrating than the primary ball handler leading your team in FGAs.. You getting a rebound and outlet passing, busting your ass running the floor knowing that your PG's main objective is to "get his" is demoralizing..If you ever played or coached you gotta know this..

Your affinity for quality post play and distain for pass first guards doesn't add up.. You got guys like Kyrie and Brandon Jennings that can score 50 but can't even make a proper entry pass to the post..You can't love bigs like you claim without having respect for the guys that set the table for them...

Im with @Liquid I think you're trolling the old heads to pay them back for some of their equally absurd opinions..
So you value players on who you'd rather play with, rather than what works best? :dead:

It's not about being a shoot-first PG, it's about balancing when to shoot/pass and having the skillset to do it at an elite level. I don't know why this needs to be repeated over and over. Kidd NEVER ever came close to mastering this, because he simply didn't have the skillset (and mentality) to do so.
