@Gil Scott-Heroin thinking that Lowry is better than Kidd is just ridiculous.
Except it's not, the very fact that Lowry is a considerably better scorer (greatly more efficient, better shooter, better finisher, better volume scorer and better scoring skillset) means that it can't be "ridiculous". After all, when comparing main ball-handlers one of the most important marks is weighing up their scoring abilities. Is it the be-all and end-all of the discussion? Of course not. But it's certainly one of, if not the most important thing.

Clearly there is an argument there to be had, before we address everything else.

Lowry ain't as good as Starbury either.

Marbury would've been a HoFer easily if he wasn't crazy

Eh give me Lowry.

Its almost impossible to have a title contending team with Stephon Marbury being even the 2nd best player. Remember he was unbearable to every coach in the NBA and his way can be questionable for team success

Kidd impacts games beyond scoring tho.

The debate isn't worth discussing really. Kidd was by far better

:mjlol:

You're proving my point about glossing over Lowry being the better scorer, and how valuable it is to this argument. Plus all these 'intangibles' and other areas which y'all like to say Kidd impacted the game with, so does Lowry. He's one of the better defensive PGs (not just man-to-man but also help defense), one of the best playmakers (not just PGs), can play off the ball just as well on it (whereas Kidd needed the ball in his hands to be effective), one of the best decision makers, has an incredibly high BBIQ on both ends etc etc.

How can Kidd possibly be far better when Lowry is by far the better scorer? What you're saying doesn't even make sense.

Everybody take a step back here and look at what's most important when valuing and comparing main ball-handlers, and look at how important scoring (offense in general) is.

He's the better offensive player. Period. Regardless, you and everybody else that keeps saying "he's only a better scorer" nonsense clearly don't know how to value player impact properly.
:russ: Dude you are the only one that believes this shyt it plenty of players that scored little through nba history who had major impacts on the game.

You probably think lowry is better then rodman also lol
This is why I can tell you don't know what you're talking about, same goes for the majority of posters in this thread. When you're the main ball-handler you control the offense, therefore you have the most influence on how successful the offense is, therefore your scoring ability (and offense in genera) is more important than practically everything else. It's not a point system where you get one point for being a better scorer, one point for being a better rebounder, one point for being a better passer etc etc.

Using Rodman as a reference point makes no sense whatsoever since he never controlled the offense.
