Yeah, that was especially bad.

These dudes have bad memories when it comes to Kidd's meltdowns/under-performances in the playoffs.

Whoo, I don't want to hate on anyone's analysis because I also have my moments of bad takes and because Kidd wasn't exactly clutch himself, but didn't Kidd drag a couple of mediocre Nets teams to the finals? Kenyon Martin was past his prime due to injury at that point, Richard Jefferson and Jason Collins weren't exactly the types of players you want as your third-and-fourth best players, and meanwhile, Kyle Lowry can't even drag his team to an at-home win against a depleted Cleveland team that barely beat the Pacers.

Martin was early in his career, averaging 15 and 17 points those seasons. Basically someone had to win the east those years. That was the time period where 50-32 would get you the top seed in the east. There’s been 14 teams to make the finals since 1980 that didn’t have a past, present, or future MVP. From 1999-2005 only one team to win the east had one on the team, just to give an idea how bad the east was back then. LeBron alone makes these cavaliers better than any eastern conference team from 1999-2000 through at least 2002-03. Kidd had ten postseasons shooting under 40% from the field and nine postseasons shooting below 33% from deep.

This Raptors squad would run a train on those early 00s Nets teams. Matter of fact, if it weren't for the LeBron/Cavs, the Raptors would've already been/going to multiple Finals. It just seems as though they can't break through mental wall of beating this Cavs team, but we shall see how the rest of the series pans out.

Yeah, see, my memory is hazy on the East during that period, and I couldn't remember when Martin broke his leg, either.

Thanks for the reminder.

Kidd was always a pretty bad long-range shooter, IIRC. You wanted him on your team for his court vision, ability to distribute the ball, and defense, but he really shouldn't have been any team's first scoring option.

It’s better to forget the eastern conference from when after Jordan retired and before Shaq was traded to Miami. Worst time period the league has seen since the 70’s and easily the worst state any conference has been in for an extended time. Detroit averaged 83 points in 2004 against the nets and 75 against the pacers, and won both series :scust:

They blew a huge lead that game. It was a monumental collapse. Lowry has won series' too.

With that said I'd take Kidd over Lowry but I'm not a fan of either:manny:
No doubt Lower is better offensively/better shooter, which makes his timidness down the stretch tonight all the more frustrating.
