The day music becomes 100% free... people will stop making it. If you really 100% believe your favorite artist will continue to make music if there is no money in it you are fooling yourselves... unless you want a bunch of Social Media artists spamming everyone with horribly shot low budget music videos & shytty quality sounding mixes with No Limit 1998 Album Covers & no where to actually get the music because no blog or website will be able to afford to host music without sponsors and revenue. All these dudes can front like they make music as a hobby when deep down they want to be compensated for their hard work & we will also see the disappearance of tours & a LOT of your favorite rappers would simply disappear because most are just using music to clean dirty money... if there's no money there's nothing to clean so there will be no music...

A $10 Billion Dollar industry isn't gonna just disappear because a bunch of Internet dudes who don't spend money on music anyway & therefore aren't targeted consumers miss the "Good Old Days"...

Music started off as a Single driven industry and will survive just fine as that with PLUS the new adaption labels are using by spending ZERO dollars on Manufacturing and being able to release digitally at any price they want & still gain profits...

Most people on Internet forums don't spend money anyway so nobody is bending over backwards to please them... nikkas complain all day & night about EVERYTHING then turn around and can't even agree on how to support the artists they hold so high. The Lox sold Greyson Chance numbers and that's one of the most heralded hip hop groups of all time...

Labels, Studios, Entertainment companies & artists don't give a shyt about forum nikkas opinions & views because YA'LL AREN'T CONSUMERS ANYWAY...

It is what it is...

The movie industry hasn't taken the same hit though because they continue to have record breaking years, chiefly based on summer blockbusters and higher ticket prices but there are a lot of moviegoers that aren't into the illegal life. In a way, they may feel like bootlegging a movie is tougher and riskier than bootlegging music

Bullshyt blockbusters of today are not doing the same numbers prior to the filesharing epidemic

I said they haven't taken the SAME hit. Have they been hit? Of course but they're still having record breaking summers and years http://insidemovies.ew.com/2012/12/31/box-office-report-2012/

Does it mean they aren't taking hits? of course not which is why I said they haven't taken the same hit as the music industry and they're finding ways to compensate

I'm just saying... you go on forums and there's nothing but bytching & bytching and more bytching but when an artist drops that they actually like the first they ask for is a download link and then wonder why the industry is the way it is...

Artists aren't being signed for these dudes because THEY DON'T BUY ALBUMS ANYWAY... instead of bytching about things put your money where your mouth is and support what you preach... it's disgusting...

Which is why I said in my post that all the dudes in here bragging about the last time they bought an album, don't complain about the music the game is putting out or why your fav artists aren't getting release dates or putting out music or getting the shine and love you think they should. Shyt is still a business and like any business, you're going to promote what makes you money and if you want another LOX album, support them when they put something out

This generation is a download generation, it's pro's/cons to that

The Industry just has to adapt either through research/development of new technologies or find other avenue's to profit from the product

And they've been doing it... the industry is still making $10 Billion PLUS at the lowest state of album sales... it'll be fine... dudes think the industry is run by idiots but these dudes have been testing new models and adjusting to new trends & technology, they'll be fine...

If I'm not getting paid for my passion, I'm still gonna do it, because it's my passion. shyt, I love extreme metal, and very, very few of those groups get paid a dime from record sales. They still make music, because it's their passion. You do concerts, make special limited addition shyt, sell merch. There's always a way to make money. You're not gonna make Lil Wayne money, but maybe musicians shouldn't be making the kinda money anyway. :yeshrug:

Your right, that a lot of METAL bands make very few dollars from music. They aren't so called "living it up", but they still get paid money from their music. They live withinh their means, but the second they aren't making any money is typically when bands disband or try to become more mainstream. As I said before, without any means to live, shyts just not gonna work. Common sense.

Why don't architects just design buildings for free???

Why people just design cars for free???

Why don't patent owners just give away their ideas for free??

These are all good points.
:ehh:

I guess I just like downloading...:yeshrug:

I still think the marketing model could be changed though. Like I said previously, I'd gladly pay $100 a month for unlimited drm-free music and tv shows.
