The NBA could rival (maybe even beat) the NFL but it's ineptly managed

If the NFL was best of 5 The Cowboys, Niners, Giants, Steelers, and Redskins would all have at least 1 more SB then they do now. NFL parity is a joke. "The same teams" win in Baseball because of the playoff system. The better team always wins, unlike the NFL where the luckiest team/team that gets the bounces win. @tremonthustler1

Exactly what I'm sayin.

Obviously we know it can't be done but if the football post season was a series of seven games each round, the teams who you knew were better goin in would win 90% of the time too. If you allow that much room for error, eventually talent is gonna win in the end and a guy like Peyton Manning would definitely have a few more rings.

The reason there's parity in the NFL is not because the teams are all closer in talent, but because the post season lends itself to a more competitive balance. If the NBA were 1 and done like the NFL... or if it had something close, it would have the same thing. And it would be better.

In the current system, the NBA champion can be crowned even after going 16-12 in the post season. That is the absolute WORST record you can have in the playoffs and still be champion.

In my proposed system the worst you can go is 7-3. You CAN'T win the championship if you lose more than 3 games. That's pressure. That's excitement. That's proving yourself. That's how you should crown the champion.
The entire thing is a scam and white america falls for it because they love stories.

More importance on individual games, yes, but not enough to make up for the loss in revenue from missing those games.

Y'all think they made more money last year or during the lockout year?

I have no doubt that the 82 game season is simply a money grab, I never thought the owners or players would agree to a shorter season.

Nah youre wrong it is because teams are all close in talent a hard cap makes it a even league because teams change rosters so drastically year to year its why you dont see dyansties anymore.

Before the hard cap you had dynasties and teams that were so much beter then anyone else and would dominate which you dont see anymore, its the reason super bowls are so close these days comapred to the 80's where you had so many blowouts all thee teams are pretty even in talent

The products mediocre in the nfl these teams arent any good even the bets ones but theyres unpredictability now

Salary Cap = struggle cap.

No one gives a damn about small market teams. I lose interest when NY, Chi, Bos, Philly, DC, LA aint involved and I am sure even though they don't want to admit it, so does much of america.

*asks myself*

Well, see I don't want less games. I'm against the 18 game schedule because it would be detrimental to the quality of those games due to the injurious nature of the sport.

And because the games would be less interesting. With 18 instead of 16... now each games means that much less.

What if it were 20? What if it were 22? The more games you play... the less and less consequential each game becomes. Oh my team started out 0-3? Pfft. Plenty of time!

That's the type of attitude that makes games less must see. If I don't care about the outcome so much, I could talk myself into missing it. Who wants to watch an exhibition anyway?

The NBA has EIGHTY TWO games. I'm sorry that's too much. This is why players get injured all the time. It sucks man cause there's always key players getting injured or some great player's career cut short. Injuries are a problem in the NBA too.

And because there's so many games, they become less important. A game in mid December no matter who's playing means NOTHING because it doesn't matter to either team.

But if they were both clawing for a playoff spot in a shortened season, and a real shot to compete for a championship... okay. Now I'm in. Now I wanna watch.

Less interesting to you not....not to me.

I don't watch for storylines and the drama created by fewer games. I watch cuz I love the sport and enjoy watching the best athletes display their talents. If you love the sport, then there's no good reason for wanting to see fewer games (unless it would decrease the quality of those games). Injuries and players not caring as much could hurt the games..ok I'll buy that. But that's it. nikkas talking about predictability and shyt...nah, I gotta reject that.

The NBA will never be as successful as the NFL until America deals with its race problem. There are almost zero white stars in the NBA and the black players are stigmatized as thugs--until the mentality of the audience changes then the NFL will rule.

Then why are the 3 biggest sports icons of the last 20 years all black?

- Shorten the regular season by about 1/3
- Change the playoff format to 3-3-3-1
- Bring the NFL structural model over to the NBA

Especially cuz the playoff model make those :trash: first and second round mismatches go that much quicker and you'd see who's REALLY playing at 100% all the time. You already know in long-ass 7 game series, nikkaz just take games off knowing that they'll make it up the next day.

pretty much.

also, people are underestimating how psychotic people are over football. football is to the US what soccer is to fukkboy ass countries like mexico and england. are they building 60 million dollar facilities for basketball anywhere in the US?
they are for high school football :wow:
http://espn.go.com/dallas/story/_/i...gh-school-ready-unveils-60m-football-facility

and i may be wrong, but college football ranks higher in popularity than the NBA. basketball is a global sport and ithe nba finals still get lower ratings than the superbowl. multiple games or not.
football is like religion and shyt

Look at this though. If the NBA adpoted college rules and all of a sudden more white players came in...NFL would have a serious problem.

1. The NBA is trying to sell an all black product to an all white audience.

2. It takes way too much skill to play basketball at the NBA level. You will never have enough good players for every team.
