The NBA could rival (maybe even beat) the NFL but it's ineptly managed

Because they were legendary athletes who broke records and changed the fields they were in???

I'm not sure what argument you're attempting to make.

That black athletes have the capability to captivate the national audience and race is a less of a factor than you think it is.

I was referring to anything north of Philly, and it's not that we don't care about football. We don't care about COLLEGE football. Unless you regularly go to a bar where Irish men reminisce on Notre Dame's glory days, we're simply not that attached to it.

Ain't nobody gonna be like "ROLL TIDE!" unless he had money on it

Why not? Why waste our time with thing long ass regular season only have the same 2-3 teams duke it out every year. I'm sorry I don't like goin into every season knowin who's gonna win before it even starts.

No one bytches about football comin down to 1 game so why not? Why can't it be done.

The regular season should be about just makin it into the playoffs. Once the playoffs start it should be competitive and unpredictable.

And March Madness gets higher ratings than the NBA playoffs. With zero stars. Take a guess why.

bruh, basketball is quirky.

a 1 game Finals, one team can get lucky and hit every shot and blow the other team out. A 1 game Final is NOT gonna find the best team. What if the 76ers with Iverson only played a 1 game Final against the Lakers? They'd be NBA champs, even though the Lakers were clearly the BEST TEAM.

And no one complains about football coming down to one game, b/c it's too physical to play anymore games than necessary. Fans understand this.

In short, the BEST NBA team wins the Finals every year. Only time it's debateable is if it comes down to a close game 7.

Exactly. A more exciting product. The best team doesn't always in.

The Patriots were undefeated going into the superbowl and were one game away from being crowned the best team ever. But guess what, they didn't show up when it counted so they don't get to be champions. If this were the NBA they'd have 6 more chances to get it right.

If you beat the absolute best of the best the league has to offer in a best of 3 playoff series for 3 rounds straight, and then march in to the home of the defending NBA champs... consisting of fukkin Shaq and Kobe.... for a one off championship game... and you WIN..... then you deserve to be champion.

It would be no different than when a team wins the superbowl.

I agree.. Single elimination in the playoffs or like you said best of 3.. Also less teams in the playoffs. 12 total instead of 16. This would make the NBA a LOT more exciting, and it may draw a much larger crowd. Think about it, NBA teams can have ridiculously large gaps in talent, that most years there are only 12 teams worth watching anyway. Every playoff game with the ultimate stakes :wow:. Really, that's what makes NFL playoffs the GOAT. Ravens vs. Broncos? Epic 4th quarter comeback and that's it. Too bad Denver, you're going home.

Never going to happen though. Less home games = less revenue for organizations. For that reason alone it'll never happen. Unless NBA arenas quadruple their sizes to match NFL stadiums, and sell out every game. It would work for the top tier teams, MAYBE, but nikkas like the Bucks and the Bobcats

Reminds me of the time when Popovich got fined for giving his vet players a break after that ridiculous schedule Stern gave them...

OP has valid points, especially about the icons. Not one athlete was fukking with MJ's iconic image. Put his face on your product, you're guaranteed sales. Hanes and Nike were te smart ones to hop on that.

I however disagree with playoff format be 3 and 1 championship game. Reasons why because last years championship run was the most exciting run since Boston and LA went 7 games. I never be so into a game before, and when Ray hit that three... Things like that makes it worth to sit through 7 games. But you're right 82 regular season games are a bit much.
