Somewhat agree with this, although it shouldn't just be a "401k" or "25%" (w/e the #). Just learn how money works and how to invest in general. I highly suggest people take free courses like khan academy or coursera, mixed in with healthy doses of investopedia. Biggest issue I see is people get scared of numbers and concepts they don't understand and let good stuff pass them by.

I wanted to be an artist.

I hate my job. The pay is GREAT. But there is a trade off. I get in at 7 and I don't leave until 8. I take work home and I come in on Saturdays. Months go by before I have a chance to visit family or friends. I don't even have time to draw as a hobby anymore. I try to spend the little bit of free time I have at the gym.

And I'm playing with millions of dollars in other peoples money so I'm under a lot of pressure.

The whole point of this route was to put yourself in a position to be a stable provider. But with no social life I rarely meet women. Furthermore, many (Not All) of the women I do meet are boogie and materialistic. I'm paranoid that if I were to marry one of them they would most likely divorce me in a few years anyway.

I'm trapped here until I pay off my student loans.

Thanks to those who bumped this last month, I really needed to read this as I've been trying to get back on the right track lately. Was in school but took a break and then a lot of bullshyt just got me down so I've gotta rebuild from the bottom.
