Harriet is an upcoming biographical film directed by Kasi Lemmons, who wrote the screenplay with Gregory Allen Howard. It is based on the life of abolitionist Harriet Tubman, who escaped slavery and led hundreds of enslaved people to freedom on the Underground Railroad. It stars Cynthia Erivo as Tubman, with Leslie Odom Jr., Joe Alwyn, Jennifer Nettles and Janelle Monáe in supporting roles.

It is scheduled to be released on November 1, 2019, by Focus Features.

good on janelle monae for playing her bit but more a-listed needed to be casted, i thought it was a b-movie at first with the title but nah its hollywood.

Harriet is one of my favorite historical figures of all time. With that being said, the trailer looks corny and the actress playing her doesn’t embody her spirit.

because she is a African who doesnt respect our culture or history, there was a big controversy about her casting.

Movie looks a little bland to be honest. Only movie I've seen from the director is Talk to Me which I liked a lot and I've always heard Eve's Bayou is a great movie though I've never seen it
