I would've cast Danai Gurira (Okoye from Black Panther, Michonne in Walking Dead)

Movie looks a little bland to be honest. Only movie I've seen from the director is Talk to Me which I liked a lot and I've always heard Eve's Bayou is a great movie though I've never seen it

good choice, she would have been better than this actress. Maybe Hollywood is trying to make Harriet Tubman kid friendly. but I don't think she was

Harriet was like a real life Django. most people don't even know that she wasn't afraid to shot a muthafukka in the face.
Alot more to her the even the underground railroad, she was a soldier, and spy and a abolitionist.
Hopefully this film does her justice,(brits don't really capture the intensity that Americans do, not saying they soft over there, but as actors they come across more Shakespearean than gritty)

Cynthia was good in Widows (only movie I've seen her in) and it seems like she's getting a little push from Hollywood but yeah, Danai would've been better.

Still gonna see this and support though

because she is a African who doesnt respect our culture or history, there was a big controversy about her casting.
You know this how? What did she say?

Anyways, Cynthia Erivo is an award winning broadway actress so that is why she is getting push in hollywood. I saw her, front row, in The Color Purple broadway play and she was great in that but I have no interest in seeing anymore slavery era movies. To be honest, I have to be in a very specific mood to want to watch shyt like that because it affects me mentally and its a downer.

But like I said she was great in the broadway play I saw her in. I admit as a man, I got a little teary eyed.
