Still not on the level of the Chinese but definitely better than enslaved Africans. I think people tend to forget this because this type of slavery pretty much occurred throughout history...kingdoms/leaders trade people for monetary gain. The Chinese didn't really need Africans to keep their economy strong...it was more of a "we get them because we can and it's free labor" but make NO mistake that they still played a huge role in the East African Slave trade right along with Arabs.
