old college coaches while great in the past dont seem to want to adapt to the most part, everyone is playing fast especially in the acc, and beamer continues this old school football, no stud rb, no stud wrs, trying to win it by playing stout defense and field position.

Even in 2011 Va Tech was weak they just got by playing a weak ACC schedule. Clemson ran a train on them 2x and they somehow got a BCS bid. :stopitslime:

Va Tech is stuck in 2004 mode it's time to file the papers for Beamer Ball.

The WR play :snoop: never thought Jarrett Boykin and Danny Coale would be so missed.

They used to dominate Newport News, Hampton Beach, etc. Where do those players go now?

The SEC has been taking a lot of the top Virginia players for years. Now with better coaches, the Big Ten is starting to get some good players like Curtis Grant, Derrick Green, Christian Hackenburg, Jalyn Holmes, and probably Dashawn Hand.

Ehh, they may not have any RB's now, but over the past 5-6 years they've had Rb's make it to the NFL.

As far as trying to win by those measures, I think that's just a result of not having the talent. Not his preferred gameplan.

It's funny to see how Va Tech went from being a prize challenge game every year. Just think about how BIG that game was against Boise a few years back....they sold out FedEx field with like 90,000 Va Tech fans. That was supposed to be Boise big test. To now, Va Tech is basically just another school and living off their past reputation.

The biggest reason for the VT's fall from grace is they lost control of the Tidewater region. Mike London broke through their stranglehold on the region (Al Groh ignored it for YEARS) and started getting blue chip recruits like Eli Harold, Smoke Mizzell, Andrew Brown, and Quin Blanding. All of these kids talk about London like he's a new father figure or something.

And it doesn't help that London went to Bethel :sadcam: UVa is a shytty football program but they still get some of the best players from the state :mindblown:

These idiots keep scheduling teams like Alabama and Ohio State when they don't have the talent to seriously WIN. it's a fukking turn off. They even opted not to expand seating capacity even though they were in no danger of not selling out.

This is where some of the top players in VA have gone since 2008

2008

2009 - As you could see from 2008 we missed out on Mike Glennon and EJ Manuel. Thomas was recruited at tight end and when we missed out on Boyd we had nobody to take Tyrod Taylors place.

:snoop:

This says it all. We stopped getting the best players in VA. Even when we were getting the best players in state, I always said it was stupid to not recruit on a larger scale. VT was up and coming..should be elite now..instead we are average. Beamer, the AD and the OC need to go. Bud Foster should have been made HC years ago.
