If we're being honest the vast majority of people in Hip Hop music acknowledge it's golden age or when it began toIt takes the corniest, lamest dude in rap to show the pioneers some love
flourish ie the 90's.
The is really no different than the tons of people mentioning the 60's/70's for Rock/R&B or the romantic era for Classical music or 40's/50's for Blues (electric blues really...)
To someone like Kendrick or J. Cole showing Jay-Z , Pac, Biggie or Nas love is showing their progenitors love, not necessarily Melle mel or Grandmaster Caz or Curtis Blow.
With that said this is dope but the video looks like "Thrift shop part 2 !!!", more humor than anything.
