It's very clear from this thread that most of you have absolutely no musical context

Kanye West is hearing this right now and taking note

Kanye West is hearing this right now and inspired to get in the studio

"but Kanye West sucks Wally"

Dude tried so hard to make a meme worthy comedy song in the same vein as Thrift Shop, all while ripping off Uptown Funk. Its not straight up terrible, but I doubt I'll ever listen to it again.

You ain't gonna have a choice breh :umad:

I only listened once . . I literally don't wanna listen to this again . . from a songwriting and production perspective this song is too good. shyt is on another level, dude seamlessly meshed the experience of 3 songs together. The production is funk influenced (didn't I tell you muthaphukkas that funk stock is going up . . King Kuntha, the Snoop album, Uptown Funk)

He literally opens the song by FORCING the listener into subconscious recognition via familiarity . . sounds exactly like Thrift Shop. BANG! right off the bat the song is being recognized by the same portions of the brain that were already exposed to Thrift Shop

The production is a step up on the success of Uptown Funk

He grabs the lead singer from a band with a strong following . . immediately leveraging on their fan base

He enlists hip-hop legends . . earning an embedded co-sign and also denoting a respect for hip-hop culture. Separating himself from the average white rapper. Has Eminem done this?

I don't want to hear this again because of how next level the songwriting is

This is better than the Eminem "Bezerk">"We Made You">"Just Lose It">"We Made You"> "Without Me">"Real Slim Shady">"Hi, My Name Is" line of singes . . songwriting levels exceeded

Now somebody find what label this guy's really signed to. Is it Warner or Universal?
