True, they slowly spreading from H st but Benning/Minnesota still got nikkaz that's goin they ain't ready for that fukkery wholetime.

Uptown, somewhere between 640 and Rhode Island Ave. I work near HU so I'm tryna be close by plus I've always loved taking strolls through Howard up to Nile Valley. Black owned businesses, every variety of Black woman, bars in walking distance, fukk these cacs for jacking up the prices. :wowkobe:

I'm already knowing I can find a decent deal somewhere tho, southside got them good deals but you far from the main action. At the same time tho southside got a real charm to me it's like a time capsule of DC before the gentrification. I swear I wish all Black people would fix and move into 7 and 8 ward up so cacs can't move in. If we lose southside then Chocolate City truly will be dead.....:mjcry:

What area of the city does the in - laws live in? The only area I know with ample Africans and Mexicans is Columbia Heights.

In the Howard University area. There are still black folks around there but listening to him tell it they seem to be dwindling each year. Older black folk who lived there in the 50s and 60s are either dying out or heading down south. I think they just want a small town where black Americans predominate.

I see them everywhere. A week or 2 ago I was at a metro station waitin on the train when I noticed a "woman" in a short dress wit a low cut breastline eyeing me down, a split second of eye contact was all I needed to realize something wasn't right, I automatically knew it was a dude. So I walked halfway down the platform tryin to keep from ending up in the same car as whatever it was but just as the train arrived it walked down the platform and got in the same car as me thru the other doors. That was the most uncomfortable train ride ever, I was standing in a corner towards the front of the car but every time I looked up that mafucca was lookin at me, ain't even like it would look away whenever I looked up, it was straight up blatant wit the shyt.

you got the #?

You right about the time capsule feel and that's our main thrust for moving to that part. We in the city but in a suburban-esque area of the city.

They are making moves tho with the upscale condos/apartments at that Minnesota/Benning intersection. Trolley system will be making its way onto Nannie Helen Burroughs. Police presence has increased too (meaning a certain people are making their way or the coppers are cleaning up for new inhabitants).

Soon, the cac/hipster crowd will be making its way sure enough.

Yeah, whites are gradually increasing in that area but it's also a concentration of Black owned businesses and I'd say it's gonna be a little tougher to just move black people out of that area not only cuz some may be unwilling to sell or own a business nearby and have to live close by, but also because a lot of Howard students rent rooms in them rowhouses so the complexion may be lightening up but shyt is still somewhat hood. On the block where my friend live someone was shot up an hour after I left, some OT cacs just moved next door too and were hangin on their porch thinkin shyt sweet at night just because a few whites on the block. I ain't seen them on the porch since.....:hugoehh:

H street got me sick. It took them no time at all to turn that bytch out. I seen the moves they making around Minny/Benning but they only by the station, if you drive less than 5 minutes in either north or south you right back in the hood. I swear after that tourist got stabbed on the Mall and the feds blockaded Trinidad on some Baghdad shyt was the day they took this gentrification shyt to the max. If we not careful the whole DC gon be a jumbo size Old Town Alexandria.

Lol at folks thinking DC is better than Atlanta. dc nightlife is wack. U Street is wack. Women are cool but nothing compared to atlanta women. Cost of living in the A is cheaper and i would say the professional opportunities are the same as DC. So many companies are headquarted in atlanta.
