portland? portland has nothing you can't get here...and wtf, both the asian (all types...vietmanese, thai, korean, chinese, japanese, indian) and mexican food here is bomb. savannah austin nashville? i'm sure they have great BBQ/comfort food, but when i'm looking for a more sophisticated take on traditional fare, um, no they are not standouts. talk about can't get "ethnic" food...yall nikkas love talking out your ass. if you like the food in those cities better, cool, but objectively, nah...except New Orleans, that's a city that goes on the top food cities list

DC clubs are the worst, you rarely see any women dancing, just standing around looking hating on each others outfits. I'm from Louisiana, I'm use to women p-popping all night. DC clubs are just costume parties.

On top of the traffic, demanding jobs and living for the weekend, your life will go by so fast. That's my main reason for leaving DC.

Good points, a lot of what you posted is true. 495/270 traffic is hell if you drive to work everyday and back. My commute should take 15 mins but usually takes me about 45mins -1 hr depending on the day. We making money here but work is stressful and demanding and it consumes your life.. I feel like a zombie more and more every year... People here are generally douche bags all around typical east coast attitude. Also...everyone trying to one up on each other here so watch out for the wolves in sheep clothing.. I'll never leave though.

Shyt is lowkey the best place to be right now

• It's arguably the most powerful city in the world...
• Probably the second most international US city besides New York...
• Faster than the rest of the country but, slower than the craziness that is New York...
• Career opportunities. It's more expensive here but, jobs also pay more...
• GOAT location (the entire east coast has this in common). NYC, Philly, Baltimore, Atlantic City, Virginia Beach, Ocean City, Eastern Shore, Mountains are all between 2-4 hours away...
• Gentrification is pushing alot of locals into MD, but on the other hand, the city has a bright future. Take one drive around the city and there's construction going on every other block.
• GOAT public transportation. You really don't need a car if you live in the city.
• Women everywhere Ethiopians/East Africans Nigerians, Ghanaians, West Indians Afrocentric broads on U-Street Bougie Howard girls Georgetown Pawgs
• Mambo Sauce
• When the MGM Casino gets built, its over

I lived around that area most my life. Its gotten a little worse since I left but its still a quiet ass suburb for the most part. Also prepare yourself for that commute..

Moving to DC would be the biggest mistake you make in life.

Housing..

To get a reasonably priced single family home you have move over an hour a half away to Frederick. There was no housing crash here. I literally can't understand at all how most families I know making less than me are surviving.

Culture...

The city has no identity. Most people you meet are not even from DC. It's full of super competitive type A personalities. People are drab and boring, a bunch of nerds solely focused on their career. Unfriendly, and closet bigots. Yeah, museums are cool as well as the many national events that take place here. But most likely you'll live to far away to take advantage of most...

Nightclub...

Schools...

There are some great schools in Montgomery county and Virginia.

Colleges...

Pitiful.

Fashion sense..

Non existent

Food...

I think it excellent. Many unique privately owned smaller places. A great variety/diversity as well.

Traffic/commute...

I'm impressed the metro system is not that large and needs expanding but it's the most attractive clean sub way system outside of Europe. The beltway can be rough but I don't think it's that bad unless you work in the middle of the city.

Women...

Seems to be fine/normal to me. Nothing to get excited about however.

Jobs..

Plenty of jobs. You will find work. But every cent will go into your home/living arrangement.

Diversity...

Very diverse, yet fragmented from what I've seen. There are people from all over the globe. Tons of illegals. Salvadoreans are just embarrassing however.

In summary, I don't think it's worth it for a single person. If you bring home the bacon it's a nice place to raise a family. But you can certainly live better in many other places. Did I mention boring?
