Why isn't Donovan Mitchell the Rookie of the Year over Ben Simmons?

He's the most exciting & skilled rookie I've seen in a long ass time. Imagine how many dikkriders he'd already have if he was drafted by LA or NY? :dead:

His offensive skillset at only 21 is mind boggling, the amount of different moves I've already seen him perform is crazy. We all know he's an elite athlete which gives him that extra edge, he has what sees like unlimited stamina & he has that killer instinct/irrational confidence all the greats have.

Every time I see him play I get why every NBA player including established stars like Harden, Westbrook, Durant, CP3, PG etc all wax lyrical about him.

He went 14/36 for 35 points in a loss......

That aint it homies
Did you watch the game? He dragged them back into it in the 4th quarter & missed a few good looks in OT.

Also, 36 shots means he has mamba mentality. It's actually a good sign. :manny:

Check out this video I saw a few months back. He's already pulling off moves some of these nikkas have been working on for years to perfect

Mamba mentality is just pseudo psychological nonsense that some batshyt cultists like to trot out for people who cherish volume shooting

Noticed that in the Spurs game. This nikka be going a 100 miles per hour on both ends yet he's never tired. The last rookie I've seen with the scoring prowess, stamina, skill and ability to takeover games as the top dog was Iverson. The others guards even in that convo were Lillard, Kyrie, Rose and Wade. But none of those guys were as consistent as Mitchell and rookie AI was

I have a feeling this Simmons/Mitchell debate Might end up being a KG/Dirk thing where both guys are equally great but at different things and it comes down to preference. But as of right now Simmons for all his all around ability has a fatal flaw in his game and can be game planned and be taken out of games. Because of this he's not a number 1....Mitchell on the other hand has no flaws in his game and has the ability to takeover games as a number 1.

It's not really even a debate imo:yeshrug:
