Why isn't Donovan Mitchell the Rookie of the Year over Ben Simmons?

Mitchell looks like some crazy scientist threw Kobe & Kyrie into one machine but he taught actual defense :wow:

ROTY and it's not close :wow:

Nah he's a pure mix of Wade and Lillard. Has Wade's slashing ability, footwork and knack for finishing at awkward angles around the basket and Lillards deep range and off the dribble shooting ability. shyt is scary when u think about it:wow:

Noticed that in the Spurs game. This nikka be going a 100 miles per hour on both ends yet he's never tired. The last rookie I've seen with the scoring prowess, stamina, skill and ability to takeover games as the top dog was Iverson. The others guards even in that convo were Lillard, Kyrie, Rose and Wade. But none of those guys were as consistent as Mitchell and rookie AI was

I have a feeling this Simmons/Mitchell debate Might end up being a KG/Dirk thing where both guys are equally great but at different things and it comes down to preference. But as of right now Simmons for all his all around ability has a fatal flaw in his game and can be game planned and be taken out of games. Because of this he's not a number 1....Mitchell on the other hand has no flaws in his game and has the ability to takeover games as a number 1.

It's not really even a debate imo:yeshrug:
exactly boss.don is batman a #1 option

bum.simmons is robin a complementary piece to a #1

It always boggles my mind with how cats completely ignore how important great playmaking, passing, and otherworldly IQ can do for a player's offensive game.:francis:

it can do a lot

but being able to gun your way to a w is more valuable

someone has to be there to kill in the clutch

Dude isn't Lebron you can't just throw that term around. Unless that's who you were referring to

I literally have seen games where Simmons will go on the bench in the 4th .and the Sixers get cold and the other team makes a run and then he comes back in and the offense is scoring again

Yeah, I don't see any Kobe or Kyrie in his game. You nailed his most direct comparisons, basically Wade with range.
