Him showing that he can take and make that shot is what was the main concern going in because his driving and post game already looked solid in summer league/preseason.

It is what people have been going at Simmons for this whole time; "if he would only take those wide open shots!" It will prevent teams from playing way off and clogging the paint and bogging down the offense.
