this was the 9/11 of music

I remember I was at my homie crib and we was playing Madden, I was busting ass with the Sissynatti Bengals when his grandmama called him up and she was crying so hard I’m thinking someone she knew personally died, getting my homie worked up as well and then she told him MJ passed and he almost cussed her out. We didn’t even feel like playing anymore. Just sat there for a good couple minutes, went to the liquor store and posted outside with a few people
thats pretty accurate. so many people i know were glued to the tv when it happened

Kobe's death was bigger even though MJ was the bigger star.
I don’t remember what I was doing when Kobe died but what I do remember is seeing live right before my eyes THE SPEED at which Kobe’s death spread & the sadness & the R.I.Ps
Everyone was talking about within hours of the news spread.
Never seen that speed of news spreading in my life.
RIP but I was disappointed in humanity.
If we cared about more important things like that the world would be a better place

There will never be anyone else who death will have as big of an impact as MJs death.

The 4 that I think would have the next biggest impact in no particular order are:

Beyonce <----- I think the internet would crash for a few seconds/minutes and Twitter and IG would both be down.
Rihanna <----- I think the internet would crash for a few seconds/minutes and Twitter and IG would both be down.
Bad Bunny <----- :flabbynsick: don't realize how popular he is around the world, if he were to pass especially now it would be close to MJ level mourning.
Snoop Dogg <---- This one will have a bigger impact than I think most would realize.

Kobe death had a very big impact but it was more tragic than anything and was made even worse by the fact that his daughter also lost her life aswell along with the other families; but it as a whole was not nearly as big as MJ death.

ATL, but rasied in DMV
Elvis's death wasn't even as big as Michael's. Believe it or not, Elvis's death actually picked up more steam as time went on. Michael been in the business since he and all my age group were children. Plus he made the afro, aka the bush, go mainstream...actually the Jackson Five did, especially Jackie. But the hair style went on to become the MJ as well. Micheal's death also affected his celebrity brothers an sisters, which made his passing affect us even more. I already mentioned how touchy his funeral was. With Smokey Robinson, Berry Gordy of Motown, etc..., there to speak, it was almost like watching Black History by itself, as far as R&B music.

Of course Kobe's death was big as well, not only because of the tragic way he died, but his daughter also died, along with seven others. For those who can't remember when the Jackson Five debuted, I can understand why Kobe's death would sound bigger. Although I think Michael's passing may have rocked the world a little more, it may be no real answer to this question.

Although I don't really like telling where I was when I first heard about Kobe's death, me, my mother, and two of my siblings had just got back from the funeral home to view our brothers' body, who was very close to me in age. I couldn't feel much more numb after that. Then we saw the news of Kobe's death flashing on the news screen when we got home. Although my brother was deceased, this would have blew his mind, being the big sports fan he was. What also made Kobe's death so touching was he favored me a little, along with one of my surviving brothers, and our nephew, back when he was playing for the Lakers. Never will I undermine the affect Kobe's passing had on us and the world. Now that I remember, my mother even named her dog after Kobe when he was playing, and she don't even watch basketball that much.
