It made sense when it was first introduced and both shows had distinct visions, but it stopped being useful after 2009. The OG split gave us the GOAT SD era, but RAW got the horrific HHH reign of terror.

Yeah like I could see if the shows had different vibes/styles, and yeah I def understand why they did it at first

But it rather quickly felt contrived and all it did was give us repetitive matchups
