Melo can't really be dumb enough to sign with the Lakers can he? He signs with LA he gets less money than he could get with NY & no real chance at competing like he could with Bulls. If he really wants to have a chance to win Chicago is his best bet because even without Rose your in the East with a great coach & good pieces. If it's just about getting paid NY gives him another year & $30M.

at him getting mindfukked into even considering the Lakers.

He's really good friends with Kobe. That's the lure of the Lakers pitch.

But I doubt he goes there. He'll get his max in NYK with the extra $30 million

As he waits out free agency, Grizzlies' free agent Mike Miller will visit the Denver Nuggets Sunday and Monday, a source told 92.9 FM ESPN Saturday morning.

Oklahoma City, Houston, and Portland are also interested in the veteran shooter's services.

Denver does have a mid-level exception available, though using it would likely put the Nuggets into the luxury tax.

The Grizzlies, according to the source, had an initial offer of two years and annual salary between $2.4 and $2.9 million. Though Miller has repeatedly expressed his desire to stay in Memphis, he is also looking for more security in what will likely be his last multi-year deal.

Miller appeared in all 89 games last season for the Grizzlies. He averaged 7.1 points on 46 percent shooting from three.

I don't think they're allowed to for a few months into the season. Trying doesn't mean they can accomplish anything. They just have a bunch of blah players on the roster.

I havent been up on this new CBA as much as the old one...Question: If the Celtics acquired someone via a trade exception, how quickly could they re-direct that player? I think they have a 10.4 mil exception expiring in the middle of July

• A common misconception is that players cannot be traded together in a non-simultaneous trade. This is not true -- players can be traded together as long as the deal can be constructed as separate, parallel trades in which the outgoing salaries are not aggregated. For example, trading two $10 million players for a $20 million player requires aggregation, and therefore must be simultaneous. But trading two $10 million players for a $12 million player can be accomplished without aggregation -- one of the $10 million players would be used to acquire the $12 million player in a simultaneous trade, and the other $10 million player would be traded for "nothing," in a non-simultaneous trade, gaining the team a $10 million trade exception.

Here is a more complicated example of a legal non-simultaneous trade: Team A is a taxpaying team with a $4 million trade exception from a previous trade, and a $10 million player it currently wants to trade. They can trade that player at any time prior to the season opening if it goes past that point they'd have to wait until December 15.
