According to a person familiar with the situation, Anthony felt as if he got mixed signals from the New York Knicks during his meeting with the team on Thursday. While Anthony and his camp were told that he could have a maximum contract if he wanted it, a source said, team president Phil Jackson continued to preach the virtues of taking less than the maximum—a message that left Anthony questioning whether the max offer was sincere.

If ainge didnt pull the trigger on that, hes stupid as fukk.

Maybe they want to see how they fare in summer league a bit? KO is built for summer league and balled out last year...but I can see Flip wanting to see Smart play the 2 before accepting I guess. Seems kinda petty given its summer league but it could be a small factor I guess

clearly it woulda been other parts to it. At this point what's done is done since Flip has his pet project in LaVine.

The problem with the Boston deal (amongst other things) is that it's a move you make if you're rebuilding and Flip doesn't wanna do that.

Makes sense. I said somewhere in here that at this point, Love isnt being moved until the deadline, if at all. I could see Flip giving the team a chance to compete for a while.
