Yea keep stashing away players instead of getting your team immediate help. At some point they have to give themselves an opportunity to spend and try to get a player or two to help Durant and Sabo.

why would 1st rounders get stashed in the D League for only $25,000 tho?

they could play in Europe or even Australia (like Heat kid last season) for 10 times that amount

I could be wrong but I think they play in the NBADL while having their NBA contract...

He wasn't projected as a 1st round pick, so I assume we made a promise to him at 29 & this was a part of the agreement. He basically is sacrificing for a year & then getting a contract that may have never been there for him if not going this route.

He is signing with the D-League team outright for a season & signing with the Thunder next season.

Nurkic: 34 points (16/18 ft; 13 drawn fouls) and 13 rebounds in a close win over Belgium. :whew:

Belgium jacked 41 threes in the game and shot terribly from 2. they wanted no part of the Bosnian Polar Bear protecting the rim. :shaq:

I dunno. I'm just commenting on OKC still going the cheap route when they are a player or two away from winning a title this year.

he's getting a guaranteed NBA contract. if he didnt take the deal he likely would have gone LATE second round at best or more than likely undrafted. he would then spend years fighting for a non-guaranteed contract or going elsewhere.

there werent any minutes for him anyway. he and Semaj Christon will D-League it this season then be signed to the roster next season. Grant Jerrett did the same thing, somewhat, last season. Grant was a 2nd rounder they bought from Portland. he signed and played in Tulsa until like the end of the D-League season then OKC signed him toward the end of the season, which he also got paid for. this season, OKC honored the agreement and gave him a multi-year contract.

:dwillhuh: So they were looking for someone willing to take a deal like that...got it.

I still don't get why the thunder made him the pick they could of just got a euro to stash.
