I made the same face when I realized his name wasn't called on draft night. Maybe the scouts saw something we didn't. :manny:
I mean...I know this league is now obsessed w/ baby faced tweeners but...

It's fukked up... Dude spent all four years in Florida... Was a defensive anchor... got his degree:salute:

Didn't get a career altering injury during that 4 years, very powerful and defensive oriented w/ a small offensive game(Can shoot a hook w/ either hand)

And nobody? Well...the Pelicans. People are going to be kicking themselves in 2 years...

I wanted my Wizards to draft him but no we sell our one pick to the Lakers we could have really used him.

Right

They can't spend 60 mil then go over the cap to sign parsons I don't think

@Loose
@Gil Scott-Heroin

They can if they have his Bird rights & the owner is willing to go into the tax right now.

Where they are in a spot though is if somebody comes through on day 1 & makes him a big offer before they find out what is happening with Bron & Melo. Melo said he would take 2 weeks to decide & Bron isn't leaving Miami so if Parsons signed a big offer sheet in the first couple days they would have to either match (& lose all their cap flexability) or let him leave (on the gamble that they could get a big name). Parsons could just wait until the big names are gone though before doing anything & Houston could get Melo & keep him.

You would think Houston has something worked out with Parsons...

Basically, let us try to get Bron, Melo, Bosh, whoever... maybe two of them if they trade defenseless Harden, then they can give Parsons something they've probably negotiated even if they are over the cap...

What would be fascinating is if a team with cap space offers Parsons a deal that he can't refuse at the start of free agency and then Houston has 7 days to match which could potentially fukk them over

It's all dependent on how soon the big names start making their choices. I don't think Bron is leaving Miami & I read a few days ago Melo would probably take 2 weeks to decide what he wanted to do. Bosh will probably be waiting until Melo signs. So if somebody makes that crazy offer Parsons would be an idiot to not sign the sheet.

What is parsons cap hold after not picking up his 4th year option?

Is it 2.5x their previous salary?

some podcast guy brought up the new possible trend, because of Exum's story, that elite prospects will skip college and just train

idk about that, you would have to be literally top 10 consensus for that maybe to work.. I would rather just go dleague

So what was the point of declining his 4th year option? That was even less...

So he would be a RFA this year so they could match. If they waited he wouldn't have been restricted next year.

It makes sense but it's also a gamble since their trying to get another big name & might end up losing him & not getting that big name.
