Remember the last time Ariza got paid? It's like they forgot how they acquired dude. Dude puts up one good year(contract year) and logic goes out the door.
Well, Ariza played really well in 2013 when Wall got back from injury.
He continued the trend all season and into the postseason.
When he signed with Houston in 2009, he went to a team that asked him to be the a creator and primary scorer... he couldn't do that. It was much different than just playing defense and spotting up for shots from Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol or getting assists from them through cuts to the rim.
In Washington, he has a PG and a big man in Nene who can make the right reads so he doesn't have to put the ball on the floor as much.
I don't think the Wizards should pay him more than what he got last year and I think Otto Porter can fill the role albeit at a drop off. But that kid has to play.
I'd rather use the MLE on a PF and call it an offseason. And also hope we can find a young PG behind Andre Miller who can push the pace...
