Love already told the bulls (and warriors) he isnt signing long term with them.

Bulls arent giving up gibson, mcbuckets and nikola for a one year rental.

And I don't think its a bad deal. Wolves would get bennett, waiters, thad young, 2/3 first rounders and get to dumb barea and martin. Its not wiggins but its the next best thing
Here's the problem you have here. You can't actually argue in favor of that being better than another season of Kevin Love. None of the players coming back have any real shot of being there long term, so why take that picks you'll sell just to dump Love? (in Waiters' case, to justify selecting LaVine, he would have to hope Waiters fails which would be awkward). You can't come back with 3 rentals, two of them bench players and say you did your best in negotiating.

Also, here's a simple way to did yourself of Barea if you have to:

Waive him. He has one year left. Just bite the bullet.

Either way, they're not moving Martin yet based on how things are shaping up.

You have to assume that everyone you get is staying long term until they tell you otherwise like kevin love did

And martin would be moved to the 76ers.

so the players get to decide their future on that team and not Flip? Flip can't keep those guys if they don't fit his team or his vision and it would be retarded of him to keep them just to save face on this trade. Trading Kevin Love for some stop gap bench players and thinking you did the right thing is like saying you'd rather have the bench players than Love.

And there's no way Philly would take on 3 years of Martin by dumping a good expiring without getting a shytload of picks.

The way it looks if they'll do a 3 teamed is

Minny gets Young, Wiggins, Bennett

Cleveland gets Love, GRIII, Shved, future 2nds

Philly gets Waiters, 2 firsts and Barea

Anything less and not only does Flip have no incentive to make a deal now, he'd just keep things as is and go for it since after all, he's coaching too

The Incentive is dont trade Love and he walks next year and you get nothing for him, so yeah in a way the player has the control.

Dallas by way of Houston by way of San Antonio
But y'all aren't going to repeat that ain't the San Antonio Lane.

CIA Pop knows the reasoning behind it. Win title, then the Euros want to get the love in international play the summer after. Tony and Manu ain't playing this summer. Neither is Patty. Diaw might be the only I think :patrice: , and that actually works for SA since it'll keep him in shape.

Only way this summer could have gone better for SA is if they had signed Gasol for cheap. Everything is in place for making a repeat run. :lupe:

If the team with love doesn't feel it's a fair trade then why should they accommodate a trade ? People keep saying something is better than nothing but that's not necessarily true though . Just taking back random pieces that you don't think are that good does nothing for the long term but save face . I kept telling the same things to the bulls fans why would getting a bunch of role players appeal to a bad team ??? If I'm the wolves id rather be a lottery team than a 4 game out the playoffs team . If you doing a move just to say Ohhh I didn't lose love for nothing if those proposed pieces don't fit a plan or can't attract Assets is still a waste .

How the hell....that nikka fell from the sky in one of those commericals or something? :ohhh:
LAS VEGAS -- Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin withdrew last week from Team USA training camp for the FIBA World Cup because he was advised by doctors to give a small fracture in his back more time to heal before the start of the next NBA season, sources with knowledge of the situation told ESPN.com.

Griffin is expected to make a full recovery from the injury, which sources say was suffered during the playoffs. However, doctors advised him to sit out international competition this summer for precautionary reasons.

Griffin has continued to work out this summer in Los Angeles with teammate DeAndre Jordan and former Laker and Clipper Sasha Vujacic.

Both Griffin and Minnesota forward Kevin Lovewithdrew from the training camp last week, which left Team USA thin in the front court and prompted the late addition of Atlanta's Paul Millsap to the camp.

In a statement, USA Basketball said Love was unable to participate "because of his current status," a thinly veiled reference to the trade talks that have dragged on since June.

But in the meantime, he's here, which wouldn't bother Flip.
What do you think about taj Gibson ? I ask cause I don't seem him play often but what I seen is a good player but replaceable . I was saying to bulls fans how they didn't really make a good effort at Melo cause they didn't even clear up the necessary space to at least offer the 4 year max and possibly force the Knicks into a sign and trade . Plus having taj at the meeting when it's a possiblity he's have to be shipped out for Melo makes it kind of awkward . Melo was offer end the max early on by the knicks and for some reason he then went silent . If it was the money he could of easily got it from NYC so I think he was really considering the bulls . I wouldn't trust a FO who the fans routinely lambast to say ohh well figure out the money later if I was Melo it's bad business

I'm sure these dudes want to play and all but the more established players may want to sit this out.

Well if you lose Love you're headed for a rebuild so if you don't get the assets to rebuild from trading him, it becomes much more difficult. Thad Young, Bennett, 2/3 first rounders (not to mention a trade exception) and shedding the salary of Barea and Martin is better than just the cap space you would get from Love coming off the books in the summer.

The Wolves are in a tough spot especially since flip is GM & coach. He's got to think short term (this season) and long term (franchise future) all at once. I think he wants whats best for the franchise overall but at the same time he doesn't want to have shyt for players when the season rolls around.

Its only better than nothing if you think you can use those assets . Maybe they'd rather try and trade Kmart and bare a seperately for picks . Bennett looks like a bust or very average player and Thad young is a good player also but is he is a difference maker ehh . A bunch of assets are good to try and trade for players or attract stars but it's minny they never do that anyway . It's complicated especially with flip coaching / Running front officec
