Al at Center is an All Star, a lot of people don't take that into consideration when looking at his game. He can play PF, but for this team he has to be a C, b/c Sap can really only play the 4, he's not a 3 under any circumstances.

Splitter is only good in spot minutes, you can't play him effectively more than 20 minutes a game and he's not a starter at this point in his career.

Millsap was our best player last yr, unless the Hawks get a great offer for him he's not going anywhere. If you don't pay Al the max and he doesn't come back for anything less than the max maybe you go after Biyombo or bring ZaZa back. IDK I'm just tired of being on the winning but not good enough to win a title treadmill and overpaying good players because we over value them

Al has been really good at center his whole career, doesn't excuse the fact that he is out of position. That stuff is always going to be good enough to win some regular season games and make the playoffs, but every time now and going forward atlanta runs into cleveland it is going to be almost a no contest because cleveland is going to clean the boards.

I do agree Milsap was the best overall player last year and his defense was pretty good, until he ran into size problems against cleveland.

Atlanta is a "win but not good enough to win a title team" because they are playing their best big man out of position and probably their best overall player at the position their best big man should be playing. So they can either keep doing this and keep losing to cleveland or whatever great rebounding team in the playoffs that they face, or they can move Al to his natural position, put at least a defensive big next to him, and get what they can for Milsap as I agree their is no way dude can be a three...he really is just an undersized four.

Sounds pretty silly that you might have to give up your best player and take a step back seeding wise for awhile in the east...but I don't see any way atlanta makes a legit title run starting a guy out of position and a guy who once you start playing elite teams is to small for his position.

And like I said...if you don't pay Horford...then what are you doing with that money to replace what horford gives you?

My god you're a typing ass nikka :whew:

But let me address your post:

Al's probably not as good playing at PF tho, that's what people have to understand about the whole, he's out of position debate. If Al played PF, you have to find a C and move Millsap, not sure who we could get for Sap that would make that make sense (BTW, Sap is under contract).

Hawks bigger problem is wing play, our PF/C combo is good so that wouldn't be where the team would want to blow things up. If anything the Hawks want to get younger and more athletic at the SG/SF positions, that's where we have been exposed the most in the playoffs the last couple seasons

BTW, I'm in favor of blowing it up or at least not locking ourselves into a situation where we overpay for good players for years at a time. That's what this becomes if we max Al out and then overpay Bazemore all for being a "fringe contender" (that's what the Hawks called themselves at this year's trade deadline), whatever that fukkin means.

I gave you a couple names to throw some money at in my last post, maybe we call Philly about Noel again, IDK. I just know I'm tired of seeing the same movie and over paying players who aren't elite and expecting things to be different this time

Here in San Antonio they are wondering why only pop and Timmy are meeting with KD and not bringing kawhi or lamarcus

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
He deserves max, I don't find it to even be an argument.

He shouldn't be your franchise player, I could see if he were your number 2 or 3, then yeah I'd say give him the max because that's a great person to have as a 3rd player, but he can't be your franchise guy.

He doesn't deserve max, he deserves a good deal, but he shouldn't get paid like a superstar when that's not what who he is. But like I said earlier the Hawks think like you and would rather over pay than think logically about what he's worth

He can be and has been, we won 60 games, got to the ECF and he is the catalyst. He's not your #1 option but he does more than any NBA big man in the NBA. No one is close. Not Davis, Duncan used to do more but he is Larry now. Towns is getting there. No big does more for his team to win games than Horford. No one. You can say he's not a scorer but he every fukking thing else. What can't he do?
