So they think they finally found a war they can pin onto him.

This vote was a partizan power play around one month after the bombing began with no consequences on the ground. Clinton lost a tight vote and it changed nothing, since the action went through NATO and had nothing to do with single countries.

As far as the establishment goes, Clinton was literally the one who bombed Serbia, so the democratic establishment better shut up and leave Serbia out of their propaganda games.

There was a lot of war propaganda at the time and this was a tight vote so a lot of people held democratic rank. So much for "he's not a Democrat" narrative.
Bernie voted just like Barbara Lee and this is coming from a person that was bombed in 1999.

The point is and this is what Obama didn't understand or acted like he didn't understand, you can't present the compromise as your first position. You push for 100% of what you want and then decide what your compromise position is going to be and compromise there.

This is accepted wisdom by Sanders supporters, but I don't really think it holds up to scrutiny. You walk in the door with M4A as your opening bid, the other side will know that you're bluffing and absolutely call that bluff. The GOP and centrist Dems aren't idiots, we all know it doesn't have the votes. They would rather force the vote and have it overwhelmingly shot down than start capitulating from M4A as the starting point. Bernie says he would respond by holding rallies in their states and forcing these anti-M4A congresspeople to support it, but that's not a credible threat at all.

This "negotiate down" plan also isn't procedurally or legislatively sound given Bernie's professed approach of keeping the filibuster intact.
