I think you're right about the movement, but I really don't think this is how the bargaining will work in practice, breh. Mitch is probably salivating at the chance to put Bernie's M4A bill up for a floor vote, just like he did with the GND. Taking the most extreme opening position can actually be counterintuitive when your opponent knows you don't have a credible way to enforce it.

All I'm saying is the health care industry is not gonna bargain for anything else except what we have now or worse. When you're fighting for what is considered a right it's not supposed to be easy. It'll be the hardest thing to do outside of taking down the war machine. The fact that Bernie is front running now means there is a window for a real fight. Now the comprimise is to say, go in with a solid public option and wait until we can transition from that. But imo the public option is gonna sink any chance because keeping for profit insurance in the game will guarantee the overflooding of the most sick on the po making it unsustaniable.
